Is Delaney actually injured and out for some time?
It seems harsh to me that many on here seem to think we should just deregister Delaney and "get rid".
He has been a great servant of the club and if this is his last season then I think he should be treated better than just deregistered and shown the door.

Are things finally starting to move a teency weency bit in our favour?

2 wins on the trot, potential star player in key position IN, players coming back from injury, extra week to prepare, widnes recent form quite poor, only bottom on points difference. At times it's felt like endless dump trucks of sh*t being deposited on us this season, but suddenly it seems like theres some light at the end of the tunnel.

McDermott said Delaney would be OK for this Widnes....I know that can be taken with a pinch of salt when it comes to Delaney but certainly doesn't sound like he's got some season ending injury.

TBF the problem isn't that Delaney gets injured often. It's that our starters in Ward and Ablett have missed so much/all the season. With those two and Ferres available then Delaney is a good reliable backup if you only need 15 or so games out of him. I'd keep him as he does a job job and it wouldn't be easy to sign a back rower who wouldn't be a first choice when others are fit or as good as Delaney can be when he plays.

Why is it harsh? he's been well paid but unfortunately his body just cant seem to handle consecutive games of RL i do think he's been mis-managed though but that's a seperate issue.
Iirc he has 2yrs left after this he will be a top 13 earner on the SC & no longer providing value for money sentiment cant be used imo its helped get us in the sh*# this year as it is.
For me we should thank him & negotiate a release or re-structure his deal to PAYP.

Surely the player to de register would be achurch! He has never been value for money (though I've always thought we mis-used him, though that's a different issue) and we already know he will be gone at the end of the season.

Segeyaro has signed and been ratified by RFL so why do we need to de-register anyone?

As for the get rid of Delaney crew (which i partly understand) he is contracted for 2 more years after this. Are you happy to have 2 years salary counting on our cap space while he is no longer a Leeds player??? We wouldnt be able to replace him cos of cap space. Its not just a matter of releasing him and replacing him.

Achurch is leaving i was on about the end of the season.

No we wouldnt if the release was negotiated or there are certain clauses in his deal which GH tends to use.

Thats fair enough but what are the chances of Delaney agreeing to a cheap negotiation?? Hes unlikely to get a good deal anywhere else, it probably last deal hes ever gonna sign and GH is pretty loyal in honouring contracts.

Unless Delaney wants to leave, and I've not seen anything to suggest that's true I doubt he will be leaving or getting paid up.

The only change to that might be if we get a new coach and he wants rid of him, but that also seems unlikely.

Besides which, he does a good job for us.

Lilley and Baldwinson both played for Featherstone tonight vs Sheffield. Injuries dependent, I'll be surprised if we see either playing for Leeds again/at all this year.
