The pace and crispness has to be there through the hands as well.
Or ya going no-where fast!

Perhaps Leeds played laterally for most of the game because their forwards were getting their backsides handed to them up the middle?
It's one thing "laying a platform", but if you simply can't because you're getting bossed then you've no alternative than to try to find gaps out wide instead.

Taking Rob Burrow out of the game and being pleased? Shocker.
Burrow is one of the nuggettiest players in SL if not the world, he is also a game breaker and if you can eliminate his threat, that's good.
Don't be fooled by his size, he's a little hardman who neither gives nor asks no quarter.
Given a clear shot to take Lockyer out of the game early on, I would, for them team. And I would be celebrating too.

They wernt though, thats the thing. Id love to see the stats of how many times our props passed the ball behind them to set op a sweeping move. When the forwards did take the ball up they were making a bit of a dent.

Really?
I hope Watkins is back of Friday night, just for your sake, you've been barking up many a tree trying to distract yourself from your bum-boy.

| I'm not so confident taking it out wide will have all that much effect against the likes of Lyon, there isn't any clear weakness in this Manly team. However, now correct me if I'm wrong, has Matai not had some defensive frailties before? Maybe that's what they're looking to exploit.

| Matai's main defensive 'weakness' is a tendency to hit people, quite often without the ball.

Hopefully he tries one on Kallum. His foot work should murder a guy who's only got 1 thing on his mind.

| Along with Whatmough, I would suggest Matai is the most likely player Leeds can get under the skin of to try and win some cheap penalties.
A little extra attention the first time either of them takes the ball into contact may be worthwhile.

Be careful what you wish for.
The asinine Bailey tried winding SBW up when Leeds were winning in a canter. All it served to achieve was for SBW to up his game, smash Marcus Bai, and even the second string Canterbury players then decided it was a wake up call to get on a roll posting 4 tries in next to no time.
Peacock tried giving it the same against Manly and got belted and sin-binned for his troubles. Manly scored a try from the resulting penalty and never looked back.

| Good attacking rugby won the game for us to night, I was dissapointed by Many whomostly offered only cheap, shots, spoiling tactics and tipping TMFMISL on his head. There is a differnce between a war of attrition in yhe pack and just being dirty.
Tonight was a victory for how the game should be played

| I think we gave as good as we got tbh as we usually do. Love those tight, aggressive games. My favourite WCC so far, although playing it at HQ was so much better than Elland Road, the atmosphere had that bit more bite to it. Great to see the old place full to the rafters again as well.
