| Yes your correct about his salary, it does count against Castleford's salary cap. I was thinking of dual-reg players, where the salary remains as is.

I'm sure there will be a decision date where that first refusal comes in here, GH is not daft. If Hardaker starts the season well Cas will be falling over themselves to pay that fee in full asap, if not GH will probably find some other mug club to take him on - win win

| Im pretty sure loan players still count on his parent clubs cap space as bizarre as that sounds.

It says you have an option to make it permanent for the agreed fee, that isn't 1st refusal though.

But how would we have an option to make it permanent if another club were able to sign him?

Probably means Leeds would allow it...but should another team come in during that time then Leeds could accept that offer. Basically, Leeds are using Cas as a showcase.Fair enough, it's a good situation for Cas too, but If he starts the season well there won't be a shortage of interested parties.

| The relevant Salary Cap rules.....5.8 Loans and Dual Registration

cease to be a considered to be a Player of that Club for the
purpose of calculating its Aggregate Liability for the duration of
the Loan;
(ii) where a Super League Club is the loanee Club, the Player’s full
Salary Cap Value at his original Club (for the avoidance of doubt
excluding any dispensations that related only to the Original
Club) shall count towards the loanee Club’s Aggregate Liability.

You have an option to sign him for the agreed fee. Basically means Leeds can't come back and ask for £200k+ if he has a good season. Doesn't mean we couldn't accept that kind of offer from another club.

| Your forgetting an important fact, Hardaker as to want to go to the club in the first place as Huddersfield have found out. Without that Hetherington can do nothing

He could bring him back and make him sit in the reserves for a couple of years...oh sorry there are no reserves... i mean rot, out of spite if he refuses to go

He could do that. But can you see GH paying him to do nothing for 2 years? If GH has agreed a fee for ZH if Cas want him on a permanent basis after next season, then unless ZH wanted to go to a club that offered Leeds more money for him, he'll end up at Cas. Can't see GH agreeing to a deal with Cas that he could live with and can't see him acting out of spite if it was bad for business

| Leeds had to get rid , Hardaker has given us no choice , he will self destruct . Leeds gave him more chances than they should and he still could not behave . I have no doubt Leeds have lost out but no one was going to pay massive amounts for a liability . Cas will just hope he regains his form and keeps out of trouble for as long as possible . Anyone you talk to in the Ponte/Feth area will tell you he just can't behave
