If he's not good enough yet, he should be given a loan to prepare him to potentially play week in week out. If he's not deemed good enough he should be let go. If he's going to be used in rotation, he should stay patient. Simple.

[sizeI know I still have a big challenge in front of me here at Leeds to prove to my team mates and the coaches that I am worthy of a place in the first team. [/size'"

Can't any promises there. Pitts knew the score. Looks like He's failed to meet the challenge he set himself rather than any broken promises.

No promises there either.

So, I'll ask again, just what were these promises or is it just guff that has been made up. IMO, it's Guff from the usual suspects.

The quotes at the time of his signing made it clear that both player and coach (at that time Mclennan) knew this was both an opportunity and a challenge for Pitts. Not that he had been made any promises.

.... And it's a shame. Without a doubt he has better abilities than some we could all name ( and is younger ).
I am still optimistic that Hauraki can make a decent second rower, but I'm also sure Pitts could have been developed into something the equal of Huaraki.......and thus freed up a valuable quota spot to boot.

So you don't think he is being politically correct here ? Being an employee most of us are careful in what we say whilst still wanting to be employed.

Do you think he has been given an equal chance as others have ?

Quote: Gotcha "I'm not blaming the club. I am blaming the promises made to Pitts when he signed, the fact that they were going to develop him into a prop due to the shortage we had coming through in that area. He was never going to be a prop in my eyes, but that's irrelevant because that is what he was told. McLennan was the coach at the time, and obviously he changed his mind on that development, and then a change of coach after has not helped the lad to develop his game, whilst signing a boat load of props anyway.

Therefore for me, his best course of action if he want's to get a new contract is to prove himself playing, and the only option he could have to do that is to go on loan.

Why does it always come down to been the players fault what these scenarios arise? Sometimes it's just too much competition or your face doesn't fit.'"

Im not saying its anybodys fault. I wouldnt blame Pitts if he turns out to be not good enough. But players have been and are given chances in the first team in the 2nd row. A young player has shown himself to be better, and a centre has proven himself better. These are the facts of life for a professional sportsman. If Pitts wants to play first team, he needs to prove himself good enough for first team.

How many times has the lad played prop?

Was the lad signed as a prop? He hasn't been developed the way the club said he would be. That's the only issue, not sure why you're looking for something else.

I think its pretty clear why he, along with any other player in a similar position, wont be going to Hull

www.superleaguefans.com/hull-fc/ ... igate.html

It seems Mr Pearson is intent on burning his bridges with Leeds, which is a shame because the co-operation shown before between the clubs looked to benefit both.

Genuine question, was he signed as a prop? I thought he had always been a second-row.
In fairness, Delaney was signed as a centre, he is now seen as second-row because he is better there, is that bad development by the club?

Each to their own I guess No, it's important to me to try and raise the level of fekkwittism on here so others can understand rugby a little better than they do.

When people post unsubstantiated rubbish and try and base a whole discussion around it I like to show those people for what they are. You're free to post what you want but if you just make stuff up you will have zero cerdibility. It took me 2 seconds and a google search to find Pitts quotes from when we signed him. Nothing about promises, nothing about playing prop.

So carry on posting the garbage you've been posting since you registered but try and remember that if you post falsehoods someone with higher standards and better credibility is always keeping an eye on you.

You tell me. Nothing in the reports I linked to above from his signing say that he was signed to exclusively play a particular position.
Quote: Gotcha "He hasn't been developed the way the club said he would be. That's the only issue, not sure why you're looking for something else.'"
I'm not looking for anything other than for you to subtantiate your claims that the club made him promises that have been broken. Can you do that?

How did the club say he would be developed and when did they say this?
