Maloney's come out and said he hasn't asked for an early release. Mind you, the gossip was that the Panthers would be happy to let him go early and he may be trying to make sure he gets the best $$.

If we could get any halfback (within reason) who would you prefer - Maloney, Hastings or someone else?

Personally I'd rather have Hastings. His best might not be quite as good but he has shown what he can do in SL and has his best years ahead of him. Maloney on his day can be great but he's 32 already and I'm not sure he'd want to do much (if any) defending.

Maloney for me without a doubt. Hastings would definitely be welcome, but Maloney is the more overall player we need.

If it's one or the other I'd go Hastings as more likely to get plenty of seasons out of him. Maloney is the better player but it's a touch short termism

Wakefield have also put an offer to Dwyer, according to the jungle drums.

If there was a choice I would go Hastings as I reckon more chance he would stay longer. Maloney has always moved for the money and is quite a hyper, full of himself Character off the pitch, he's a better player but I think will want far too much coin/ too long a deal to be viable.
