Your small town, small time club syndrome's really coming to the fore here but if we say Danny Brough's in better form than a 35 year old, who's played more games and won more trophies than any other player in the world in the last 10 years and is on the brink of retirement will you be happy and go away?

I'd rather have Sean O'Loughlin in my team at the weekend than Wally Lewis. Doesn't make him a better player if you compare the two at their peak.

You're asking the wrong question, because it's absolutely beyond dispute that Kevin Sinfield is the better player. He's evidentially and demonstrably superior to Danny Brough. Does he have a bigger impact on a game these days, sometimes yes, sometimes no, but a better player will always be a better player. If a league game were to be played tomorrow and I had to pick between them I'd probably pick Brough. If a final were to be played tomorrow I'd pick Sinfield over him in a heartbeat without a fraction of a second of consideration. That's why he's better, because only a mad man would opt for Danny Brough in that scenario.

Except the question posed was which HB would you trust to come up trumps. Not which all time great, acknowledged by a number elsewhere on here to be past his prime & responsible for a number of poor performances himslef over the last couple of seasons. If I wanted a HB to come up with a piece of magic now it would be Brough or Brown. If I wanted a player, not necessarily a HB, to control a game over 80 minutes it would still be Sinfield.
