When Iused to go on those cup final weekends setting off at 7am etc.I could never for the life of me start drinking at such an unearthly hour before we set off.

Only because he got so ratted one year he can't remember being at Wembley, and in fact refuses to believe that he ever went, or that the final ever happened. In fact, I think he refuses to believe the year happened.

When we used to do the final in a day, we had a strict rule about when we could start drinking, just to keep the day sensible. No one was allowed a drop until we went past the YEP building.

I have vivid memories (unlike them...) of being on a coach to Cardiff in 2003 and passing a mini-bus full of youths at about 5:30am being, as the term goes, lairy and bouncing around waving cans of Stellas at us.

We passed them again in a traffic jam at about 7:00, by which time they were all sound asleep, one with his face squashed against the window and a nice bit of drool...

I was still having breakfast and didn't start on the pop until lunch time.

It could have quite a lot of excess miles over 40 years though, its bad enough trying to keep to a limit on a three year lease.
