| Still hearing strong rumours that several currently contracted players for 2020 and beyond are being touted to other clubs and that they would be released if they could get longer term deals elsewhere.
IMO the club have identified the players currently under contract that they deem surplus to requirements and that it would be in their interests long term to move on rather than run their contracts down at the club (could be reason as to why our side is not performing as players know that they are on the way out?)
If you had a shopping list that was realistic for 2020 then who would you like the club to sign?
I would sign Jackson Hastings and George Burgess as my first choices
James Maloney from Penrith would be also worth a shout for 2020 if we couldn't get Hastings, but I would imagine that he will want Mega Bucks to sign (Wigan signing IMO)

No wonder half of squad aren't given their all for the club if that's true.
I agree, Hastings and George Burgess would be my main targets. Then I'd like that Jones from Salford with the big back rower from Manly (Thompson?) Weve been linked with. Both wingers over the next couple of years need upgrading.
6 or 7 signings needed for me to get us back into playoff contenders

| We need second rowers more than another prop IMO, but at least one decent halfback has to be top of the list.

There are rumours we’re looking at Josh Jones. Not sure what to make to be honest. Has looked good on occasions, not on others, but then I’ve not been watching him specifically.

| George would be a JP like signing without a doubt. If hes available we should do everything in our power to make it happen. Imo it would give the club a huge lift. But yes a couple of quality halves is also a massive priority

| Let's all get realistic we are not going to sign all of these players.J.Thompson and J Jones are the most important for me.Why is G.Burgess being let go and can Hastings be a big fish in a big pond, not sure.

| Burgess being let go due to salary cap. No reason imo why those 3 or 4 mentioned are not gettable. There will be plenty of cap space next year

| Rumour mill in over drive! Parcell, Singleton, Ferres, Cuthbo, Brisco, Goulding heading out, although a couple want to hold on. Dwyer & Smith offered deals but other clubs want them.
Wigan favourites to land Hastings, but like many clubs we have put an offer in. We also appear to be talking to a number of players. A Wigan winger, Salford back row, Cas HB!!, Rabbits Prop, Manly back row.

| Plenty of NRL clubs would be interested in Burgess. I doubt we'll see him in SL until he's past it.
One issue WRT all these names is the various quotas - I thought we'd already be full with who's currently in the squad?
I agree that if the club has told some players they can leave it won't be helping morale, but some of them need to let go of the safety blanket and realise they're heading for part-time status if they just run their Leeds contracts down they way they're playing.
Of your list those that are out of contract can't 'hold on' if they aren't offered new deals. I can understand someone Cuthbertson's age playing on as he won't get another deal (he certainly shouldn't have a deal for next year but that's done and dusted) but like I say, some of the others need to start thinking about their careers over the longer term- by all means try to maximise short-term income, but even one year hanging on playing DR will vastly reduce your chances of getting a decent contract later. Some of these guys need to show some fight - if they did the team wouldn't be in the mess we're in.

If we could get him as our 3rd marquee player and with the draw to him of being his hometown club it might just be possible.
