Good god we are becoming a serious mid table plodding outfit if that is the type of player we are looking at to stop the rot

Jones is very underrated, he's developed well at Salford. He's better back rower than JJB, Ablett, Donaldson, Sutcliffe and Ferres to be fair.

It also seems clear that the club see the 2nd row as recruitment priority, which it certainly is.

I'd take Josh Jones he is better than any of our current second row options apart from Ward imo but Ward can't stay out on the field long enough, he is only 25 and has developed into a good hard working second rower at Salford if bringing Jones in means we are not resigning Ferres and can also offload Ablett as well as JJB retiring then I'm all for the club going for Jones to freshen up and add youth too our back row Jones, Ward, Smith and Trout are better options than Ferres, JJB, Ablett and Donaldson.

Statistically, he's also one of the best forwards in the league.

I would agree with that. He is no Thompson like, so hope not instead of, but a big improvement on what we have. Developed very well.

I'd like to think we are after a controlling halfback as well. James Maloney would be great for a couple of years. Wonder if Cuthbo will be offered to remain as the coach of the women's team with the same pay he has now but will retire at the end of the season?
