| Frustrating night with another patch of errors that killed us again. The Newman knock on, the Watkins offload and the Holroyd knock on were particularly disappointing.
Kendall was garbage but the worst for me was the green card for Connor when he dislocated his finger. That for me is not what the green card was put in for and we see it many times stopping the game for treatment. That left us with 11 on for their first try.
Thought Millar went well. Sinfield had a forgettable night. Really got exposed in defence on the right edge but the loss of Hall wouldn?t have helped. I?d like us to stick with him until Croft is back and see where he?s really at.
Hopefully the injuries to Hall and Oledski aren?t too bad.

| What has happened to Newman - where has all his pace gone - the last try he was nowhere.
Using his head in the tackle - not a good luck.
If Wane plays him against the Aussies it will be a bloodbath.
For all the talk about Gannon - he put a shift in.
Handley was unlucky - would not have gone if Sue hadn't already gone. Never make a centre.

Newman has lost pace, but last night he was playing injured from early in the 2nd half. Trainer was constantly on and off and it was obvious that they only kept him on because of Hall's injury. The game itself was terrific, if slightly marred by officiating which impacted both sides. In the age of play acting on a Rugby field I cannot believe we were reduced to 11 men because Connor was in intense pain having dislocated a finger! For all that, I thought KR deserved the win. Lewis and Litten bring a spark to their game which we simply don't have, especially without Croft. Thought Connor,Handley, Watkins and Miller (despite a couple of mistakes) were exceptional. Pack went well, but we need a hooker who can offer more cutting edge than O'Connor. Thought Lumb, who I thought needed a rest, was also very good. He's got some real character that lad! I was really hoping young Sinfield would take his opportunity, but hand on heart, I can't see what he offers that Frawley doesn't. His kicking was equally bad, his defence was worse, his discipline was poor, and he lacks the pace to be a real threat with ball in hand at the top level. Maybe I'm being too harsh, (unfortunately his fathers legacy will always skew my perception of him) but I struggle to see a scenario where he is a key part of a succession plan. On to next week, where despite injuries and possible suspensions we need nothing less than a win.

| We've been crying out for years to see a Leeds team compete and start to play like they have been building this year. Frustrating though it is not getting these close games over the lines, a bit of perspective on how we are unrecognisable from last season and how teams like KR have been consistent in playing at the top for the last few years. We're not there yet but we will be and I can't remember when I last believed that.
It's not complete yet there's some pieces of the jigsaw missing but we've got our team back, that much is clear. Arthur has to stay and see this transformation through.

Agree, for the first time in ages we have a team capable of competing. But BA is going.

| Didn`t KR score when we were down to 11 men? I was under the impression the green card or whatever it is was put in place for players deliberately going to ground and play acting. The Catalan team were masters at it. The fact Connor wasn`t play acting and was having his dislocated finger put back in place should not count imo.

He had Tangonoa and Whitbread running at him all night and for the most part he dealed with them well.

| That?s three games against too opposition we should have won.
I think our biggest issue is lack of consistency in the spine positions we need Smith Croft and Ackers back, when they are I think we might see these results shift later in the season, there is a very good team in there were just 5% short.
I also disagree with those who say Handley isn?t a good centre, his play to set up lumbs try was excellent centre play and showed why his pace can be a real threat in that position.

Players staying down after head contact, play reviewed and penalised with yellow/red, being forceful, to the head with/without mitigation. Tackled player then gets up, has a bit of a laugh and plays on. Forecful, to the head - surely this is HIA territory.

I haven't watched it back yet, but I'd say every halfback in the league gets targeted in the same way every week, it's just part of the job. My major point is that in the areas of the game that set aside top class players - pace, kicking, and execution of skill under pressure - he looks average I really wish that it was not so, but my eyes and 40 odd years of watching the game tell me that it is.
