| Good luck to him at Saints. I don't think he ever really had a future here after the game v FC in May.

| Quote: Marty Grrrrrrrrrr! "Have to say i think its best all round that Koni starts afresh elsewhere. He has potential to be a powerhouse player but i personally dont think he takes the game seriously enough. Maybe Saints can get him fit and get him working harder.
Look at last week, hes out with a foot/ankle injury, hes in a boot yet runs across pitch with his crutch in the air to South Stand. Hobbling on it all the way
Just stupid could have made his injury worse. Just about summed him up to me.
A really likeable character, a powerful bloke but is he a professional? Wish him well at Saints, hope he knuckles down. Probably wont happen.'"
This sums it up for me. Woolf looks a hard case. I suspect he will make him train harder and lose weight and be better as a result. Could see saints using him as an impact bench player in the second row/loose like Murdoch M was at Warrington.
If woolf gets him fitter it won’t reflect well on our back room staff who’ve had 3 years to get him fit and failed to do so.

The responsibility of being fit ultimately rests with the player. You can train as hard as you want, but if someone’s living on junk food at home it’s a losing battle..

I agree it is mainly down to the player but if he does not do it himself and is on marquee money, the coaching/conditioning team need to man manage him to better fitness.
I reckon Brian McD would have been onto him relentlessly and cajoled/bullied him to be a better, fitter player so as not to let down his teammates.
Woolf may also fail to do this, time will tell.

| Do we think the club aren't announcing this yet until they have a new signing, Hurrell is a very popular player maybe they want to announce a signing alongside him leaving for some good PR?

One thing is for certain if Bielsa were the coach of the Rhinos Hurrell would be three stone lighter and much fitter

Being weighed daily before you start training helps focus the mind. If the results are going the wrong way, you get put through the mill on your own until it improves.

| Things are taking shape - Lui going home, Connie on his way , King off to Salford . Just need to offload Martin and Tom Briscoe , and with the right recruits , plus those already announced , we have the makings of a team that can challenge the top 2 . Only query then is if our coach is up to it - can he be as ruthless and tactically astute as needed ?

I’ve not always agreed with selection policy this year but then I didn’t under Brian Mac either.
However Agar has done a really good job. Maybe he gets to go round with the squad he’s put together.
I suspect Agar himself will call time when he’s had enough, or feels a new voice is needed to take the team forward.

Tom Briscoe won’t be going anywhere and Ive s feeling Martin will be retained now

Can’t lose really - if Martin stays, great he is a solid enough player. Has some pace abs kicks really well.
However we are really strong in that back row and if he were to go it would free up another quota spot and a good chunk of salary. We really could go in for a first rate prop then.
I suspect he will stay.

| Thats where the "ruthless " side of your coach comes . Martin has no go forward , no pass in the tackle and steady defence - not good enough for an overseas place. Tom B was given a 2 year contract - again , another poor decision. He has had his day.
We will have overseas places available and some money - we just have to find the players with ability who have the " Prior " attitude.

Although we may have plenty of second rows I don’t think we have 1 quality one. I reckon Gannon will become one but needs another 3/4 years.
