| Another "scooter hooker" with limited/poor passing skills. Why are we, as a game not producing better? Oh for a Cameron Smith (Melbourne version) type hooker.

Yeah, because Cameron Smith just bends down and passes the ball off the floor every tackle. You need to adapt to the modern game, it's not 5m anymore. Understand engaging markers, creating space around the play the ball, narrowing their defence etc

Why don't you go out and coach and produce them then?

| Happy with this....This time last year our hooker position was a mess, going into 2018 it should be a strength. We wont see as many individual moments of magic from dwyer coming off the bench as we have with rob but imo the team shape will be better for it

| Quote: Charlie Sheen "I thought they might have gone with Lilley as the back up hooker next season, so I'm happy with this signing, although he isn't the greatest defender, he definitely seems too small to defend in the middle. Long term, I wonder what this means for Harvey Whitely?'"
Lilley is a half back not a hooker, I'm glad we've signed a specialist back up.
Will Whitely still be able to play U19's next year? It doesn't mean anything for him in the long term, he's not ready to be our 2nd hooker yet.

He can though.
Never said Dwyer was crap. I said he's average, which he is. Limited player, ok in defence, awful decision maker. Lets see what you think of him this time next year.

We'll see. Neither Lunt nor Aiton was too special but the organisation they brought helped land us 2 GFs. As a back up, Dwyer will be fine is my guess.

| I think there is a difference between what we are expecting and what Wire fans think we are expecting with Dwyer.
I dont think anyone thinks we have signed Cam Smith or another Segayaro, Dwyer is limited in certain aspects and i dont think i would be as encouraged if we were going in to the season with only Dwyer at hooker.
However as a foil and cover for Parcell he is realistically better than we could have expected.

I fully agree.
All that changes though if he is coming in as no.1 hooker with Parcell returning to OZ at the end of this season, but we will have to see.

| Where does the idea that Parcell will leave come from? I've read it a few times on here but it seems to be based solely on the fact that Parcell is quite good rather than any evidence he intends to leave.

| Fantastic player playing well you just know the NRL will come in for him.
I'm absolutely adamant he won't be here next year. Add a nice Cliché "I'd love to be wrong" statement obviously.

Im sure he'll be just fine & have a much bigger & better impact for us than say old man Gidley or the vastly over-rated Astra Thief Brown have had for you.

| Think he will be a good signing;Dwyer does remind me of Mick Shaw.Let's hope the forwards can provide him with some quick play the balls,so that he can give the team some added ummph around the ruck.I'm sure he'll be ok.
