Two threads with direct reference to this.....all the crap about how the players are 'doing it tough' and feeling the stress. Utter bollox. Treating their supporters with contempt more like.

I agree. As I've always said, McDermott, coaches, GH, players all deserve the credit for success. All equally deserve blame for failure.

Whilst I do agree with that the reality is it's much easier to change a head coach and a couple of backroom staff than to sack a whole team.

You can't help but feel McDs days are numbered now.

Everyone's days are numbered but you have to ask how the hell is McDermott still in post with this season's record. He should have been sacked long since but if that's not happening how is he not seeing what's going on out on the field and making the decision to remove himself.

His percentage record in the bread and butter Regular Rounds is now approaching that of Dean Lance - and in the wrong direction - soon they'll be only one more to go.

I think it all stems to the dear John Letter from GH. he looks a fool if he fires Brian right now when all was well in the camp according to him what, not 2 weeks ago?

There are so many signs that things are not right at Headingley and that has been the case for most of the season . Whilst i am a massive fan of Hardaker and Watkins something seems not quite right regarding both of them .

I agree which is why I think his days are numbered rather than him about to be slung out now.

With any hope of avoiding the middle 8 disappearing in the last month and us out of the cup I suspect McD will see the season out but planning for his replacement must be in full swing.

His days will be numbered as soon as the crowd starts getting at Hetherington rather than just McDermott. At the moment, McDermott is acting as a nice bullet vest for a CEO who has been excellent in the past but in any shareholder-responsible business would be getting the boot himself.

I strongly suspect McDermott will be given another season at least. To "complete the job" or some such reason like that.
