| Quote: nantwichexile "..on Recliffe Rhino's observations.
It was a response to his comments. I have no idea how he will develop as a player for us and must remain optimistic.
However, we have effectively replaced Peacock AND Kylie with just the one prop for the 2016 season (Garbutt was already with us prematurely of course).....sooo, he better had be bluddy good.'"
Firstly, we also signed mullally, not to mention resigning baldwinson.
Secondly, you don't replace a player like peacock. You figure out how you move forward without them and alter the dynamics accordingly. Is Galloway the answer? Time will tell. At least he can only get better.

Did you really just say that?
I thought last season reached a whole new low on Southstander but you've surpassed it already... and a whole 6 weeks before the season even begins. CONGRATS.

I continue to forget about signing Mullally (probably says it all really).....As for Baldwinsonhis[/i slack. I have a feeling though it is Sinfield's captaincy/goalkicking is the thing we will the most - especially if, seems the case, it is McGuire given the captain's armband. Great player maybe, but captain material? Never in a month of Sundays

Actually Golding at SO alongside Lilley at SH doesn't sound too bad to me....McGuire is so yesterday's man. And Baldwinson as captain probably aint such a bad shout, but Stevie Ward should probably be given first crack IMO.

Sal, AG and the rest might as well give up now.... you're already nailed on for "Moron Of The Year 2016".

| Yesterday's game was a poor display. But think Mcdermotts post match interview said it all about how we approached the game, not counting it as a part of ore season. I agree Galloway was poor yesterday but I am sure he will be ok come the season. I actually think we will be fine in the pack, another SR would improve us but other than that I think we looked ok. Faloon looked like a Aussies signing of old off injured!! When he was on looked to be a downgrade on last year but time will tell, only saw him for a bit. For me mags isn't captain material gets too easily wound up.
It's sinfield we will miss sure sutcliffe can do a decent job but will take some time to settle in.

Hang on, didn't he just win the Harry Sunderland a few weeks ago to close his best season in years?
I'm off for a beer, this place is crazy and you've somehow gone even more mental during this off season

Nope we just try and have a proper discussion without it being cluttered by your nonsensical, uneducated, Rod Studd style OTT Look At Me postings.

I agree Sinny is a huge miss but as I said about peacock, you don't replace these players you have to adapt.
Is mags the right captain? for a year or two yes I think he is. He knows the ethos of the club, is old enough to have seen it all and will be on the pitch every week. I know some are calling for ward and I see why but he is still young and injury prone.
If ward is a natural leader he will lead without the armband anyway. This way he doesn't have the pressure of actually being the 'captain'. Personally I think mcd has made the best call he could both for now and the longer term.

There is plenty players in this club who know the so called "ethos". There are plenty of players in this club who have been winners. There are plenty of players in this club who show leadership abilities.
Never in his time has McGuire shown he is captain material. A lot depends on him next year as first choice half, having to guide the team around, another facet he has never shown he is capable of.
The last thing McGuire needs is the burden of captaincy. It is a completely wrong decision IMO from the club, and something that will effect us. Time at club, does not constitute leadership ability.
