| Quote Andy Gilder="Andy Gilder"94% tackle success rate for Mullally per Opta.
Of Leeds other props, only Peacock (95%) has a higher success rate.
Doesn't back up qualms about his defence.'"
If this opta measure was the definitive measure of defence then that would be true.
Mullally is often so far out of position that he cannot even attempt a tackle. In his first 5-10 minutes he also prone to enthusiastically jump out of the line and end up failing to make a tackle. A fair few of his tackles are the easier third man in variety. I think his number of carries and tackles is far lower than most props at Leeds.
The lad is keen and Leeds are a top club so there is a good chance he will move from being a project player to an established prop, but it will require plenty of work.

94% tackle rate- from how many tackles? What that stat doesn't tell you is how many times he fails to even attempt one.
Here's an interesting stat for you. In the game against Leeds that you all said he was great in he made 5 tackles, and carried the ball 4 times. Yes he averaged about 10 metres a carry- those 4 carries got the team about 40 metres.
If an impact prop is what you are looking for then that's what you've got. But I don't think that's what you need for next season.

How long was he on for? How many missed tackles or errors?
I remember him making a really good break towards the end of the first half but not much else TBH, although no one really stood out for Hudds last week did they?

| As with all signings, depends on what we are paying out on his contract. On balance looks like a sensible gamble.

would be supprised if Yates is still with us for, very much longer, IMO he doesn't look like he will make it at this level with leeds

| If he's happy to stick around on a low salary, I wouldn't mind keeping Keinhorst as threequarter cover.
Not convinced that any of the current 19s wings or centres are likely to get to the required standard over the next 12 months, and we're a bit threadbare otherwise.

| I'd also like Keinhorst to stay. Done his bit when he's been needed and hasn't let anyone down IMO.

| Agree re Keinhorst. A better option than moving Ablett to centre in my opinion. As said if he's happy to play mostly at Hunslet with the odd game for Leeds I'd be happy to keep him.
