One of my favourite Leeds moments - Hall's intercept vs Manly in the WCC at Headingley has forever been ruined as I won't be able to watch it the same again without thinking "if only at Wembley too."

| Quote: FlexWheeler "Quote: FlexWheeler "The problem was Roby passed to Sinfield who was on the very narrow side. He's too tight to aim properly down that side, if Roby goes the other way both Tomkins and Widdop have the other corner to much easier aim at.'"
The entire structure of englands last 2 sets was shocking. They put themselves in that position of defending the line with seconds left. Think it might have been the 3rd or 2nd to last set england had in posession (may have been further back, but it was in the last 10 mins) widdop put up a midfield bomb. WTF? Territory was as important as oxygen at that stage, and NZ started the set on their 35/40 metre line.
You put some of those england players in a super league grand final at old trafford and they'd have been constructing sets to pin the opposition down in the corner and not give them a sniff. The pressure got to them at the end.'"
You're absolutely right on this, giving a penalty away and missing tackles will always happen in a game. However, an organised and quality team keeps the play in locations where they are less likely to be damaging. Had that set started on their 5m line, which it should have, the chances are that they would have been nowhere near our line when the penalty was conceded. It is a shame because, in my view, Widdop was one of the better players on the park but, I'm sure he will learn from it.
On a wider note, I do believe that we had enough of the game to be considered the better of the two sides. Their try in the first half was fortunate and should never have been given. The second try was on the back of five straight penalties.

Why shouldn't it have been given out of interest?

This, well all of the above, and the fact that the pass from Luke was about 3m forward.

Do you think Farrell impressed with his chances in WC?

A tool proven 100% correct. As I was on my pre-tournament assessment of flat track bully McIlorum & tin man Mossop.
Classy touch hillbilly. Classy.

Classy? My comment was in response to your "inbred" comment. Totally uncalled for and pathetic. McIlorum and Tin man didn't do so bad in the way of medals this season did they???

neither have some Leeds players over the last several years, that doesn't mean that I would be supportive of their callup into the England ranks.

| I think Farrell may yet become good enough for Test rugby. He’s still only young. As tigertot’s other half says to him size isn’t important.
As for McIlorum I don’t see it. He’s too ill disciplined and isn’t as quick or as crafty around the ruck as Roby or Lunt or even Higham.

He simply isn't big enough for test rugby. Name me one outstanding world RL back rower at 15 stone? The only comparable player is JJB, arguably international class, but he is far more mobile & runs hugely better lines than Farrell. My point all along is he needs to put on a couple of stones & become a prop in the Andy Platt mould. He is far too rigid & inflexible in his movememnts to be a Paul Gallen size loose forward.

That's you banned from the inbred board as well.
