| Quote Andy Gilder="Andy Gilder"It's not often I agree with Keith, but I do on this.
The idea that any NRL clubs would be chasing a player in decline coming towards the end of his career like Peacock is laughable.
If he's managed to get two years out of Leeds on the same salary he's on now, then good on him.'"
What about Civoneceva?

You mean like the roosters wanting Morley? Or Newcastle signing Buderus?

| Thank goodness Hull FC didn't sign JP.
There'd have been another 40+ page thread on how he was too old and past it and how the rhinos don't really need him and have had the best out of him and we're not bothered and thanks you're a legend JP and always will be and all that but it's time to look forward and move on and good on GH for not shelling out on a ridiculous 2 year contract especially at his age and let some other desperate mugs do that instead cos he won't make any difference to Hull's chances of breaking into the Top 4 anytime soon, typical Hull signing another pensioner well past his best, Oi get back to us when you've won a few trophies cos you've got nothing to brag about here what a joke club and we're not bitter, what are your fans doing on our forum anyway, you're not even in Yorkshire, etc.

Are either of those coming off the back of serious knee injuries?
Both of them are, IMO, performing at the same high level as they were 2-3 years ago. Not sure you can say the same about Peacock.
Plus, both of them have already built up a reputation in Australia and shown they can handle the NRL. Peacock hasn't.

Which NRL clubs have been sniffing around Morley?
Do you believe every beat-up sharticle story you ever read on what was obviously a slow sports news day for the Sydney Morning Herald?
Like [url=http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/morley-eyes-a-surprise-comeback-to-roosters-20120317-1vc4y.html[uTHIS ONE[/u[/url which refers to claims by unnamed sources that there has already been some discussions with the Roosters... a claim which Morley himself refutes [url=http://www.warringtonguardian.co.uk/wolves/wolvesnews/9606629.Morley_reacts_to_Roosters_return_rumours/[uHERE[/u[/url... and a sharticle which cannot even cite the correct date of the next Rugby League World Cup, unless it's suddenly been moved forward to the year 2015!

Last time I checked (this morning actually) Civoniceva was still driving the ball in straight at the opposition to good effect without recourse to any 180 degree safety-first pirouettes at the point of impact with his back to the opposition.

Erm, I was taking the p!ss out of my Leeds colleague.... being educated in Leeds, but not punctuating his post. You know, the post about standards of education? Oh never mind.
For the record, my wife has a bachelors, masters and PhD all attained while in education in Hull. Bright as she is, it definitely took longer than 2 years.

Maybe that's how JP has managed to still be playing at 35 - method in his madness hey, either that or by having your back to the defence allows an easier offload. Who knows why?

| I think what Keith is referring to is Peacock's tendency to spin in the tackle. Quite why Keith is referring to it in a negative way I have no idea. It's a legitimate technique taught to forwards in order to shift the balance of the tacklers and allow further advance up field by the ball carrier. Good prop work and harder to defend against than a simple drive. It also opens up greater possibility for offloads.

I completely agree that it's also a legitimate technique which works effectively in Super League and opens up greater possibilities at that particular level. But that wasn't the context of earlier pontifications by others on this thread.
