Erm, Kevin Sinfield is our captain not Jamie Peacock!
Love the way that you turn everything on us for something one of your five captains did.

| As somebody said earlier, if Coley's headshot was 2, 3 is about right for Ablett. It was worse than Coley's.

I think Ablett will learn from his mistakes and hopefully won't make the same one again, maybe some tackling technique coaching is required!
3 games seems very harsh though IMO
Regarding Hock i hope that he too learns from his mistakes, he obviously won't require the coaching staff to do any specific coaching as he obviously knows his way to the White line

| Quote: chapylad "If 3 is the case I reckon the so called TV experts I include Harry Gration in that probably added a game to that total
To be fair, it was bad enough that not JUST the TV experts were pushing for a ban.
Radio commentators too (some who hate Wigan, so you can forget any calls of bias) said the RFL HAD to do something, or there would be nothing short of a scandal.
Quite right, too.
As has been said, it was worse than Coley's 2 match ban hit a few weeks ago, but not as bad as Leon Pryce's cowardly off-the-ball on Kevin Sinfield in the Challenge Cup back in his Bradford days, which I think got 6?
Think he got off lightly, but 3 matches is more than I thought he'd get.
Can't believe Brian had the cheek to suggest he was hopeful he'd get away with nothing... Any appeal should increase the ban by one game for frivolity.

| Just one point id like to make i find it amazing that joel tomkins got away with the late flop with his elbow in to mylers head after he scored due to his past good disciplinary record yet ablett gets 3 games which in my eyes he deserves but shows that the panel are not consistent enough in there punishments

Yes Radio Leeds were saying the same after the game as no doubt radio Manchester were doing even though it was maybe kneejerk at the time. I am not for one minute saying Ablett was innocent. I do think Coley`s 2 match ban took his past record into account whereas Abletts past record was zilch. Hence a 2 game ban would be correct. Ablett is not a dirty player believe me despite what other supporters think.

Wasn't Coley's only 2 games because he'd recently served a suspension, so the incident itself was deemed worthy of a 1 match ban?
I would have thought 2 was a more likely outcome for Ablett, but 3 doesn't seem overly unjust.

| Blimey, the RFL have got it right for once.
3 matches is spot on. Horrendous offence, should have been a straight red.
Doubt they will appeal, it stands very little chance of succeeding.

IIRC, Pryce got 4 for his cowardly, blind side, off the ball assault on Sinfield.

Manchester's radio phone-in was interrupted by a 15-minute plea to the RFL to grow a pair and do something about this and stamp it out in the game.
I think you may be right. Coley probably would have got 1 game + 1 for past record, Ablett 4 games -1 for past record?
That sounds right to me. Although Coley's much cleaner since coming to Wigan, when we signed him I had severe doubts about him and his record. Obviously it's followed him, and always will, which is what annoys me about certain other players who get called in front of the disciplinary regularly and let off, always with the line "previous good record taken into account" in there somewhere.

| Ablett deserves that ban absoluteley disgraceful if the offence had been commited against a Leeds player you would be going nuts on here. It was a disgusting challenge and how Bailey got away with leading with the knees is unbelievable , Leeds are a good side who can play exciting rugby but you are a dirty side and if things aren't going your way your players get stroppy and dirty, it's a shame because as a said your side can be very good .

If Leeds had the RFL in their pocket I doubt they'd have been without Brent Webb for the Challenge Cup victory over Wigan (and one other fixture) earlier in the season for an offence nobody could even recall.
IIRC Webb appealed and lost that as well.
