Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army.
Rudge: Where? India?

Also tempted to try one of Simon's books'"
Im in the middle of generation kill. Its good but not in the wire territority. Ziggy from season 2 of the wire is one of the main protagonists and just as annoying

I must admit my devotion to The Wire did waver a little in the middle of the second season, in part down to getting board of Ziggy.
Thankfully, I stuck with it and season 2 finished well, season 3 got better and season 4 was to me the best season of all. Season 5 was good but not quite as good as 4 for me.

You'll never beat the system by bombing number 10,
Systems aren't just made of bricks, they're also made of people,

| Hard to get near Prop Joe (the marriage counsellor quote, need I say more) but I was always a fan of Slim Charles (the fact Anwan Glover is in a Go-Go band just makes him even better). OT but did anyone else on here buy the Go Go Crankin' album all those years ago? Trouble Funk, EU, Chuck Brown etc, the Arena show on Go Go (must have aired 85-86ish) was brilliant and my t**t of a brother taped over it, can't find it anywhere on the net...

Season 5 is the weakest of the lot for me because of the main Jimmy storyline is quite frankly stupid. Still awesome telly though.
Season 4 is my favorite, the school stuff is brilliant in it.
Also I have to say that the overall ending to the show is brilliant and very satisfying.

Didn't know about Anwan Glover being Go-Go. Does this make his offing of Method Man a musical statement?

The end of Cheese is pretty much my favourite moment of the whole 60 episodes. (Although a few of Omar's scenes come pretty damn close).
BTW did you know that The Wire is the favourite TV show of the President of America and Omar is his favourite character...bet his predecessor wouldn't have lasted 10mins of episode one.

| Speaking as a fan of the Sopranos, I've still got to say: Wire first, daylight second.

| Quote: Vic Mackey "Actually some of those "wannabe gangsters" are very much the real deal (see for example Snoop Pearson).
I wouldn't for a minute have expected you to be able to cope with a program as intellectual (and morally) challenging as The Wire. Thankfully HBO make telly like that for the minority and you can stick to Big Brother 27.'"
Cheers, I will.

| Wife has just finished watching Season 1 of True Blood. When she started watching it, I said I wasn't interested in watching.
I have now found out there is lots of nudity involving pretty vampire babes...
...Now why didn't she tell me that a few months ago?????
Lock the door and take the phone of the hook...I've 12 or so episodes to watch
