Newman 1 game and the club doesn`t appeal.
Tetevano at least 8 games considering his previous bans.
3 games for Newman for a first offence is ridiculous imo.
Has the ref been demoted yet for this weeks games?'"
Yep, agree also with that and OWL's post

I would say at least 4 times possibly 5 leading up to their try`s he missed either an obstruction a forward pass or a knock on.
All led to tries.
Similar for Leeds he missed a few pens that we should have had but he didn`t give them.
Unfortunately I do not have the benefit of watching all the game again.
But Sky I believe either commented or showed a replay leading up to the miss by the ref at the time.
I agree though that there times at the game I would slag off the ref only to find on the highlights he was correct.
This time and other times I`ve watched Grant he has missed some glaring errors and should not be reffing at this level.

as I said previously, the reports said that Newman pleaded not guilty, if that's true the appeal was frivolous as it was obvious to everyone. If he had pleaded guilty but queried the length, I don't think the ban would have been increased and may have been reduced giving mitigation of first offence etc.

Having watched a bit again, I think you are right.

Hurrell1 - absolutely fine. Leeds fans booed, but it was clear Martin fell off before Hurrells ball carrying arm hit the ground.
Walmsley1 - absolutely fine, not even sure what you could claim was wrong in the build up
Fusitu'a - Incorrect. There have been stills shown he was out, but even that should have been a penalty to Leeds, Grace fell on him as his ball carrying arm was on the ground completing the tackle. Grace had no right to try and drag him out, and Fusitu'a had no right to pass it, either way, no try.
Grace - I know there is nothing I can say that will convince you he had control of the ball, even though he was gripping the ball on the inside of his wrist. The angle which would have shown if there was separation had a Leeds foot in the way, but your all acting like he goofed up - one thing to note is after the ball was on the ground he definitely had control of it, because Bentley tried to rip it out and failed.
Hurrell2 - absolutely fine. If you are going to complain about Martin taking Paasi out the play before, I will point out Welsby literally stops waiting for the referee who correctly points out no ones been obstructed before the play continues.
Thompson - is as dodgy as the Grace try as far as I am concerned - Handley knocks it forward as far as I see.
Paasi - Absolutely fine. Again I am not sure what you could claim as an issue in the build up.
Batchelor - Absolutely fine. Was a lovely run and pass by Lomax to boot. Only thing would be Bentley falling late into Batchelor, but that just led to more chants from the home fans.
Norman - Absolutely fine. Only thing the ref missed in the build up was the crusher tackle by Newman on Bennison.
Walmsley2 - Absolutely fine. Only thing is the ref should have sin binned Leeming for a professional foul (and thats according to the sky commentary team) and a sin bin for Newman going off on the ref (but thats ground already covered).
Which ones are you disputing? And as a wider point how many games have you been to where a team has 4/5 tries ruled out? Should you all not be concerned that Saints props scored 4 of their tries against you, including one who had never scored for the club before (Paasi) rather than desperately looking for anyone but the team to blame for the scoreline?

| I don't have time to re-watch, however, one try came from Donaldson taking a high shot, being held onto as he tried to play the ball and then when he played the ball, a Saints player kicked the ball stopping our hooker from picking it up cleanly. We then got pinged and Saints scored.
Likewise, I seem to recall Hurrell dropping a kick on their line, the ref missing it and then Saints going down the field and scoring.
The tries themselves were probably ok even if some were potentially 50:50. A lot of it was the build up decisions to the tries. Had them decisions gone our way, rather than Saints, we could have been 12-0 up not Saints.
The Hurrell try although Martin released Hurrell, I thought Handley had placed a hand on Hurrell, albeit it was 50:50. The Grace one was simply a 50:50 call and I felt Walmsley's try came from a forward pass. I can't recall the rest of the tries now!
For me, it was just one of them games where Leeds did not get any 50:50 calls at all with Saints being on the right side of all these calls. I think as a result, we were then gassed in the final 20 and shipped a few in.

| Hardaker getting the ball ripped from a kick off too which lead to a try. Anyway Grant hasn't been given a game this week, that's pretty telling. He was dreadful, almost on a par with leeds pack.

TRUE ,
Although i have found a way to improve our pack , there were several forwards in the woman's state of origin who showed far more passion , strength and skill than our lot .

Like I said I have not had the benefit of watching the full game again.
However the actual completion of some of those I have disputed came from play before the act of scoring.
In other words like Hardaker having the ball stolen in a 2 man tackle that led to a try would if the ref got it right not have stood.
Other examples have already been made and I`m not going over them again.
Don`t worry we are deeply concerned how our pack gets owned time and time again.
We have been rebuilding that pack for several years now and the likelihood is it will take a couple more years to get it right.
At the end of the day the score line says you won comfortably.
We will agree to differ how good a game Grant had on the day.
Pleased to read that he is not going to spoil another game this weekend though.

| Great to see jonah Parsons back from a 2 year injury nightmare last night, got over for a try aswel. Hard to say what his potential is now, after so long out, but imo he was an excellent 9 prospect before the injurys, one i had high hopes for.

| Not Leeds related, but what are the chances of Welsby being called up in front of the disciplinary for throwing the ball away and mouthing off at Childs yesterday?

Yep, same goes for Walmsley also. But I doubt either will.

Surely if they’re condemning what Newman did, they have to be consistent with it. Do I think they will get cited, not a chance, but I’ll be interested to hear why not. Welsby was trying to referee the whole game last night. Class player, but an absolute gob$hite. Also, why didn’t Napa see red? Tetevano would be banned for life.
