| Sinfield currently the best hooker in the club. His passing is so crisp and actually makes some DH breaks. I’m not sure he can get through the defence work of JOC but I’d rather see him play longer minutes. Lisone plays like he usually does against weaker packs. Just rather he did it against the best. I’m a big fan of BA and it’s a shame he it looks like he will leave at the end of the season. Our attack is total garbage though. It’s the reverse of what the RS sides used to turn out. It seems like Langley will be lined up to take over as head coach. Lets hope he can be replaced by an assistant who can get the attack going.

| The speed both physically and mentally at Dummy half and First receiver isnt there... so the shape thats been set becomes too flat or over-runs the play - or the opposition has closed it down before it happens - having a winger and a terminally impatient kid for centres doesnt help matters either... Its been the case for some years now that we have some really good players but notneccessarily really quick/ smart ones, but its getting better. Its been a while since i felt sorry for an opposition for having to deal with a big strong and relentless Leeds pack but i did last night.

Defensively we are light years ahead of last year. Thought BA nailed it in his interview last night. Huge physical effort is just expected now, let the forwards do their job, spine work on the back of that. He did say he's seeing progress in the attack but also said we need to demonstrate it soon, not just talk about it.

| I'd love to know what Rohan was thinking when he brought in Frawley.......

| Pack performed well again, and on the whole we defended well, especially when down to 12 players for 20mins, niling a team is always good, no matter the quality of the opposition.
Attack still not the best, Frawley the issue, Connor did his best to sort the attack on his own.
Ive been impressed with Sinfields defence these last few games, he should defs take Frawleys spot while Croft is injured, im sure he would improve on Frawleys attack.
Great 4 tries for McDonnell, running great lines and been in the right place at the right time pays off.

| Agree on McDonnell, Connor. Early days I know, but getting Connor in may just be one of the most astute signings of the season.

| For any of the recent sin-binnings have any of the fouled players had to go for HIA? It's almost like players are coached to ensure play stops and anything marginal is going to be given once reviewed by the VR.

Listening to the refs explanation, anything along the lines of "it's direct contact to the head with force...." - as for the two on Thursday - then it's certainly surprising they aren't sent for HIA, given all of this was brought about under the guise of player welfare. At some point the RFL will cotton on, HIA's will happen, players will fail them and the practice of staying down will fizzle out for a while, then gradually creep back in and round and round we go.

| Why wasn't the head on head by the Salford defender on McDonnell picked up as a yellow card then? Direct contact to the head, thought that was a foul nowadays?

| You can only beat what’s in front of you, but I wonder what some of the top teams would have done to Salford Thursday night. Brad Arthur seems to have managed half a job in his time here, but our attack doesn’t look to have improved as much as I expected. I’m loving watching Jake Connor, such a clever player with ball in hand, and a couple of great 40/20’s already this year. That matches our total for the last 10 years. It was nice of the RFL to give us the extra 2 points and a bye so early in the season with our extra game against Salford. I can’t believe anyone seriously thinks these extra games are a good idea or remotely fair.

| A truly fair comp would be play each side home/away. Once wouldn't yield enough revenue, twice would be way too many games.
So, you're then into the realms of extra fixtures and any notion of "fairness" goes out of the window. The NRL is no different in this regard.
Move to 10, or 8 team, comp and the possibility of home/away twice becomes real. That brings its own issues with repetitiveness etc.
Which brings the very notion of home/away into consideration. More Vegas /magic type events? Watching the NRL this morning, they're on the road again. The NRL is a tv sport that has fans as an extra. SL is the opposite, for the moment.
NRL return on investment may very well come with a massive price tag in how the domestic game looks. New clubs entirely? Franchising where teams move, a la NFL?
A clear case of thinking very carefully about the future and making an informed decision. Eyes wide open.
