| Quote: Sal Paradise "Do you honestly think that Elland Rd will attract bigger crowds for run of the mill SL games than Headingley?
Leeds haven't sold out Headingley in years why does everyone think they need a bigger arena?
All those who have renewed their ST are going to be happy that a load of people are going to attend the game at a significant discount to what they have paid. I would have thought the Bradford have showed giving away discounted tickets has no future.'"
Are you justifying this on our previous capacity or our 12.5k capacity next season. Both these games at ellan Road will easily beat the full capacity.

Yes. Without a doubt.
Also using Elland Road as a marketing tool and needing a bigger stadium are two very different things.
Getting 38k through the door once or twice and trying to make 2 or 3k sticky is a vastly different business in every way to one trying to get 30k through the door every other week.

Both these games should beat headingleys full capacity when finished and previous capacity. There is no reason that with some effort those games shouldn't sell out.

| there does seem to be a bit of a relationship developing between Radz ,GH and LCC .Radz recently plugging the Rhinos ? I wonder if he has aspirations of a redeveloped ER hosting major RL events ?

I admire your optimism, but Leeds united cant sell out ER for big championship games when over the last few months they have looked like serious contenders for promotion (granted that looks a false dawn right now ) but no chance we get close to capacity for a few poxy SL games. People may be willing to go to big one off games in their droves but unless they are practically giving the tickets away i would be surprised if we filled over half of ER.

I for one am shocked, certain posters assured me that was a terrible idea. I'm sure the dynamic duo will be along to tell us they are still right soon enough...'"
You might want to wait until we see what crowds they get, sure you claimed we would get loads more than usual. And I think it's a move born out of necessity rather than us wanting to move games there.

| Yeah I think I might be one of the people he's referring to. For the record my position was that if Headingley can accomodate 12k, there's no need to move 6 games to ER as they wouldn't get great crowds, it would look rubbish, and the club would lose money. I also disputed how easy it would be to "sell it out", considering there's often lots of empty seats at Headingley and even the semi took an age to sell out. IF there's a simple trick to attracting more people through the gates, we should use it to fill Headingley. I hope that's not too contentious
Having 2 games there is a bit different. Especially if Headingley can only take maybe 10k. You can exploit the pent up demand and let people in for a fiver.
Not sure the KR game will get a great crowd, but Cas should easily beat 23k

BIB - I'd be very angry if people are being let in for a fiver when I've paid full price for my season ticket.

I think your season ticket allows for you to get £5 tickets for friends
I'm guessing there are about 30,000 individuals who go to Headingley in any given season. About 10k ST holders and 20k going to between 1 and 12 games a season seems about right??? If you can get just 2/3rds of them in for the Cas game and say 5k curious people and those in on their mates' £5 vouchers, you'd only need 5k from Cas to get 30k. Easily achievable. Think the Thursday V KR will be a tough sell though and could undercut the potential of the Cas gate

| Obviously it was a coomplete fantasy the SS and a temporary stand plonked on a building site would be up and running by Feb.
Season tickets probably slow. So the club announces games at a proper stadium rather than a building site nobody know what will look like.

For me its more to do with what Headingley will look like in Feb/Mar/Apr I for one will not be spending money to stand in a buidling site with no facilties. Now I would pay to got to ER until at least one side of the ground is up and tested.

| Both games are almost certainly going to be on Sky, that'll make getting a high attendance tougher. It's not like ER is some brand new stadium like the Olympic Stadium that people are quite keen to see.
As the article earlier said...,."As owners of Elland Road, Leeds United know, as we do ourselves, how it is important to generate income from the stadium by hosting a variety of events"......so they won't be letting us use it for free.

| We should have played this season at Elland Road. It's fantastic. And now we own it I doubt Radrizzani would have charged us much, if at all?

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

With some effort Leeds - are you cannot really knock the commercial efforts at Leeds - couldn't sell out Headingley - are you seriously suggesting that the attraction of Elland Rd will double the crowd - really?
