Was it Steve Ganson. icon_razz.gifRAY:

How Silverwood managed to call the Sinfield pass to Hall forward was bizarre. Even Child appeared to think it was legal.

Comment from a Wire fan on another board, in response to my praise for Sir Kevin:

Fair play to the man. Knocked out cold, came back.....Talented unkillable dead-eye kicking b******.

Sums it up nicely. Well, apart from the last word, obviously icon_wink.gif

Sinfield in the master general. Superb.

Should his toughness on Saturday. Real leader of men.

Thought he made most of his knocks as well, true pro.

Sir Kev cannot be killed by conventional weapons. Can we have "Unkillable" t-shirts in the club shop next year?

I honestly don't think there was loads wrong with the Monaghan challenge, I've seen worse. He was putting pressure on, missed with all the parts of his body a sane and rational person would attempt to make contact with and copped an accidental clash of heads. Bit clumsy, but that's it for me. Only he knows for sure, but I can't believe he deliberately charged in for a flying headbutt. He doesn't look like a lunatic.

The Sinfield to Hall pass was marginal, but usually not given so unlucky in that respect. I couldn't see an angle from which the Briers to J. Monaghan pass looked forward. Bit unhappy about the defence, but one of the best passes you'll see in a Grand Final.

Silverwood wasn't perfect, never seen a ref who is, but I thought he had a pretty good game. Bit lenient at the ruck, but the game was so fast, and the collisions so big that you could easily have ended up with the whistle being blown every other tackle. Common sense prevailed.

I thought that. Bought a bit of time, when Leeds were on the backfoot on both occassions.

Personally I thought the effort to get a hurried kick away (which went practically straight up and down), get smashed, get up, and still be the person there to re-gather and put another kick in was amazing. What a hero

slo-mo replays make it look worse than intended. In real time he is marginally late and perhaps careless but i dont believe it was intentional.

Sinfield is the ***THE REAL MAN OF STEEL***

which ought to be on a commemorative T shirt k020.gif

Exactly. No point leaping up when under the cosh, made sure his chargers had plenty of oxygen in their chests to go again.

His try summed his effort for me, as he was their to claim the ball to crash over.

His goal kicking was picture perfect, from technique to execution. They didn't just get over they flew over. Never any doubt. That's in the pressure of a Grand Final. Unbelieveable composure.

21 out of 21 goal kicks in the play-offs. This guy thrives on pressure. I know we get this every time sinny goes on a run like this, but what is the SL record? And what is Sinfield on?

I have a feeling that it was Deacon with about 40 odd in a row, and Kev will prossibly only have a couple from the Hudds game to add to his 21 in the play-offs

Sinfield's run is 21 - he missed the final two conversions at Huddersfield after the late scores by Ablett and Peacock.

The record is normally stated to be around 35 by any one of Henry Paul, Barry Eaton and Hazem El Masri but who holds the actual record I'm not sure.

Featherstone's Liam Finn. He notched 41 in a row this season.

Glad I fessed up to not being sure, he wasn't even on my shortlist.

_____

In terms of Kevin Sinfield's best run with Leeds that I can see (I didn't record this stat prior to 2005 unfortunately) stands at 25 in 2009. He missed one then kicked the next 13. D'oh.

I've no idea which attempts count for the record or whether they have to be consecutive but Rob Burrow has also kicked a string of 25 two pointers only his came over a three season period.

Where's Ross and Norris when you need them.

Anyone remember the good old days at Wigan when David Stephenson and Henderson Gill would take the shots at goal depending on which side of the posts they were on. Seen something similar in Union where they'd perhaps have a long and short kicker or have I just made that up?

You have to pick the bones to find fact from fiction mind.
