I don't care about the support play. If Myler or any other young halfback wants to be good they need to be able to pass, control a set of 6 and have a good kicking game. We're far too forgiving on young halfbacks who never develop the core skills, and far too excited by halfbacks with speed.

I also agree with DHM - there was a time when every club seemingly had a 7 who was a scheming, mouthy little sod. The fun was you could hate everyone else's but love your own. Now those that act as a good halfback should - i.e. cocky and absolutely full of themselves - are forwned upon. Despite his petulance with respect to England, its one thing I like about Brough.

I imagine this thread would look a whole lot different had Tony Smith not got hold of him. A player with unboubted ability but for most of his career lacked the temprament, and consistancy to make the most of that ability. He's been a tremendous player for the last few years and one of the few half backs with the complete skill set required of a halfback, so for that reason especially he will be missed.

Please don't comment on me, it's unnerving.
