| What a game that was. Fantastic skill. Strange play the balls, and the scrums were...interesting.
What happened right at the end?
Can we have a rugby game every week night on the BBC.
Brilliant viewing.

| I remember being there for both the Widnes and St Helens finals. love to see the OPTA stats for this one haha, the amount of tackles Graham Eccles does is fantastic, had a beer in the Old Star & Garter on Kirstall Road with Graham on the following Tuesday night and i remember to this day him telling me about Syd Hynes fearful speech at half time, threatening every player with a visit to the dentist the following week if they didnt perform, happy days.

| Don't tell me the score I've recorded it
I was there in body that day although not necessarily in mind, standing near the top of the stand behind the goals, all I remember is standing in the bar at The Queenswood Club at about 10pm that night and someone telling me I looked a bit green in the face - that was just milliseconds before the whole days worth of beer came back.

| John Holmes did enough in that game to win 3 lance todd trophies, not just one
the judging of the man of the match was a complete travesty

And good to see a St Helen centre/winger mistake giving us the match as well.
It was a good night and that match was brilliant, what a drop goal by Holmes. Not too sure about Leeds short kick off at the end of the first half though

| The amount of niggle generated by Eccles is awesome. Radford would have wet his pants if he'd been subjected to that.

| The game was faster than I remember it. Eccles was a grafter who played above his size. Fantastic match.
It was great to see a proper stand off weaving his magic. The delayed passes etc. Thats what I miss in todays game.
At its worse some SL matches today can look like a load of bulked up blokes running into one another. The space and steeper lines of attack in this game made it great to watch.

I watched the first few minutes until Oulton and Atkinson spilled the bomb....couldn't bear watching any more.
(To be honest savoring the rest for later....it was a very different game then....and who knows if we had been allowed to continue in isolation it might still be played the same way today. Bluddy Aussies, 1980's and all that. )

A lot more variation than now. Once Leeds started to dominate, virtually every play involved different pace, angle, length of pass etc.
