| If we don't get our indiscipline sorted it will cost us dear come play off time.
Just how hard is it, when you know that you are the dummy runner, know that the ball is not coming your way, and all you have to do is run the angle, how hard is it to simply avoid running into an opposition player and giving a needless penalty away? Last week it was JJB, this week Kirke, and both cost us tries. Bluey needs to have a word.... it's not f'kin rocket science!
In the end though, despite not playing at the top of our game, we showed great team spirit and a fair measure of skill to overcome a determined Wakie outfit

| Quote: back to back to back "A team like wakefield can only play at that level every so often because it takes so much build up, effort and preperation. They choose to do it against leeds.
It would be the equivalent of leeds trying to play at grand final level every week.'"
And what is very strange is that those on here crowing after round 2/3 are not doing so any more. Perhaps they are all still in Edinburgh, we shall wait and see.

I've thought that since McClennan took over but in the FE's and grand final our discipline magically get's in check.
Even today when were a big lead behind we suddenly stopped giving away as many penalties.

And so would you! We've not lacked effort in most games just execution hence my bridling at the pathetic attempts to patronise us

Yes you have. Against Hudds you just rolled over as if you had no belief to beat them yet you constantly up your game against us. If you had played half as well as that last week you would have beat a very poor hull side. Maybe you were saving yourself for this week. If I was a wakey fan i would feel extremely short changed that your team only turns up when it wants to, like against us but does not not have a grand plan in achievements throughout the year.

And you've seen all our games this season have you? in the majority of them we haven't lacked effort including the hull game. Before today we'd won half our games. As i said, pathetic attempts to patronise.

No I have not seen all your games this season, but put you hand on heart, have they put as much effort, commitment and planning into all you games as you have today? I will go one further, had you played like that last week you would have beat a poor Hull side who are struggling at the moment. Yet the effort, commitment and planning today we there for all to see against an equally poor and out of sorts Leeds side.

No way have you put that much effort into most of your games. You were piling men into every tackle, striving for every yard, every inch, every blade of grass. Do you balls put that much effort into most of your games.
Stop kidding yourself.

So the 6 games we've won were walkovers then? Your kidding yourself thinking that all the other teams in superleague care only about beating the whinos!

Great coherent argument there.
Where did I say the games you won were walkovers? where did I say all other teams in super league care only about beating leeds?

| It was one that got away from Wakie. They threw away a commanding position.
I thought the try on the bell of half time got Leeds back into into.
I thought (and was right) that it was then 'next try scorer - winner'
Leeds bossed the 2nd half and got the win.
Kear said the best side lost. I don't agree. Wakie commanded 1 half, Leeds the other. Leeds' momentum in the 2nd half was much more effective than Wakie. Neither coach will be thrilled by this game. So in these cases just make sure you walk away with the 2 points. Failing that you can nick them like Leeds did.
With 10 minutes left it looked like Wakie knew what was coming. They didn't seem to have the energy or desire to deny Leeds a match winner.
As for Leeds - the defence has to tighten up quick. Leaking far too many try's.
Thought Clarkson's effort to score was outstanding. it was just raw determination to get over. He just kept driving and kept his arms free. It wasn't flash but it was a much better score than the 1st glance at it. I think alot of players would have conceded the tackle a split second before he scored. Effort lad.
Thought Kirke had a good 1st stint.
JP gave real honest go forward. His best game since his comeback.
My man worked his socks off yet again. Thought he took the ball up with good tempo. Notice how things happen when he takes the ball near try line. Quick PTB!!! Directly scored 1 try from his PTB - quick hands saw the gap exposed. The same thing actually happened twice - but the Burrow score was chalked off. But the threat is still the same. In the interest of fairness (as sometimes I am accused of wearing rose tinted glasses!!! pah) he should have made the tackle on Ben J. But he can't peform perfection every week.
As for Biff - thought he got on with the hard stuff well. Dont recall him dropping any ball and was ok in defence. Was caught out for the Loopy Leo score (IIRC) slow in getting back the 10.
Those are my immediate musings. More will follow, maybe.

I agree with your not agreeing with Kear. He's in dreamland, Wakefield were dire. The truth is the Leeds defence in the first half was absolutely woeful, all they needed to do was tighten up a level to just awful and Wakefield didn't threaten.
Who leaves an injured 5'5" half back on the wing defending a kick last tackle on your own line? The organisation was pitiful in the first half.
On the positives, Peacock looks like he's getting fit, Hall was more secure and the new lads did their bit. Notable absentees would be JJB and Sinfield. I knew they were on the pitch but apart from when Sinfield took conversions he was very quiet. JJB is an enigma this year. You can see that he's trying, but his workrate seems down and he just doesn't look effective in what he does. Makes very few metres going forward and defensively he's all over the place and lacks discipline (which I suspect is frustration on his part). "Form" is a strange beast.
Bluey's face at the end of the game said it all, as did Sinny's after match interview. All is definately not well. A decent defensive effort from the start and some better ball control would have seen us come out comfortable winners.

Well he took a knock. And players usually do move out to the wing to keep out of the way.
Wakie deserve the credit of quickly identifying that and making it count. It was just one of those things I think.
You could look at Hall's position too. He was around 3rd man in from touch.
i don't have a huge issue with the Burrow being there - but it could (and should) have been better run. More organisational and vocal commands need to be used in these spontaneous happenings. Leeds weren't quick to re-structure. Wakie made us pay.

| defence at the moment is atrocious.
30 against hull, then 20+, then 40 against saints, then 30 against wakefield. Mother of god. It's a minor miracle we've only lost one game recently.
