I disagree with the opening poster.

But, as a Leeds fan I'm embarrassed at the level of abuse this poster has received for posting an opinion. This board is for posting opinions and no matter how much you disagree it's really not on dishing personal abuse.

However, that is normal service on here (and a large part of why I read but didn't psot for so many years) and I can see why people come and go.

What do people gain from this?

I didn't say that you did. I was just continuing with the theme of the thread.

Quote: wigan_knight "Buderus produced the best 30 mins from hooker i have seen in a long time in this league..the guys not ready to finish his career and it would be the biggest mistake by leeds in the SL era if you just let him go IMO of course.'"

I disagree and that is a very strange comment.

There have been bigger mistakes by Leeds in the SL era than letting Buderus go.

Letting him go would be way down the order of mistakes.

Gosh - I didnt expect such a response, people seem to get very emotional about things.

Just to clarify -

1)I am a rhinos fan, and have been for 21 years.
2) Danny has been one of the best hookers in the world.

However - I go back to my point. Having blown the budget on Danny, our rate of return has been poor. Whilst all signings are potentially risky, he does seem injury prone, and I simply don't think we have or will, get value for money on him.

I would prefer to strengthen part the squad where we need it - using the cash to sign an international back rower and centre.

Take the emotion out it. Players are assets of a business, nothing else.

However, I doubt that those readers who post personal abuse on boards would really understand the principal.

I think the OP raises an interesting discussion, how many minutes have we got out of Buderus? The squad is pretty thin and we need players who can play a lot of games

But I dont think we really need to save the money as we arent spending the full cap anyway icon_sad.gif

In terms of finances, is it really a wise investment to send one of your best players out on the field injured? Probably not in this case but it can lead to even worse injuries

Danny isn't injury prone, and we've had plenty of games this year where he's been the difference, although I'm not sure if that's just him being fantastic or Disco being off the boil, as he's looked under par whenever I've seen him.

He's here for next year (at least), and, as others have said, should be fit again around playoff time. I certainly want him to stay one. What's more important at the moment is sorting out our discipline, and the poor defense that allows opposition teams to capitalise on this.

All joking aside buderus has been quality this year and IIRC he has missed no more games than webb yet no-one mentions ditching him.
If it was a knee re-construction i'd see yer point but we'd be crazy to even consider ditching DB because he has a leg fracture!
P.s If you aren't gareth hock do you socialise with him? icon_wink.gif

Quote: simy123 "Good player, nice guy - feel sorry for him about the injury.

His season is over, I believe his Rhinos career is as well. Harsh decisions have to be made in sport and in this economic climate. For one of the highest earners, he is not value for money, and is a luxury player.

I would not be suprised to see a compromise agreement come to fruition, and Buderus is let go. This would free up even more space under the cap, for players that we really need - ie quality back rower and centre.'"

Are you matt diskin?

Yeah I'm sure you're [ireal[/i gutted about his injury.

Now you'll be a starter in every game, what misery.

Danny Buderus has suffered a fracture to his tibia.

The race is on to get him fit for the play-offs!

"Every team suffers injuries during the course of a season which is why you need a strong squad and we have every confidence as a group that we can continue to build towards the play offs starting next Saturday against Warrington."

At least Bluey talks a good game even though the squad isnt strong enough to select a player on the bench who he feels can be put on the park!! icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

God that guy is useless.
