Furner has been sacked from both his first team head coaching jobs, not a great record that is it.'"

| Quote: christopher "He’s been the assistant coach for one game, how you or anyone can judge him on that baffles me, look at other teams theres quite a few ex players that are assistant coaches
Lee Briers at Warrington
Paul Wellens at Saints
Lee Gilmore and Liam Finn at Trinity
Danny Orr at Cas
David Hodgson at Hull Kr
Thomas Bosc at Catalan
Luke Robinson at Huddersfield
I wonder wether they got more than one game into their assistant coaching careers before being written off?'"
Briers started as an academy coach and earned his stripes, Wellens started as PPM for the academy before moving up, Robinson started coaching the U19s, Gilmore is only part time etc.
This is supposed to be an elite club - yes having him working with the juniors but not as the assistant - he is the fall back to a very modest coach - do you really think that is appropriate?

No just like Brian McDermott resigned from Leeds
And Agar left Hull for Wakefield - even the most ardent Wakey fan would be hard pressed to suggest that was a promotion. His win % at both clubs was >50%

I don’t know JJB or how he works within the club and with Agar.
He has the job as does Agar, and I am going to give them more than one game i to the season before writing them off

Both the current coaches at Hull and Trinity are on a similar win % maybe it’s not all down to the coach

| Whilst the coaching staff isnt what i would want i can 100% guarantee if we had Trent Robinson, who i personally rate as the best coach currently, players like Dwyer, Sutcliffe etc would still be garbage. He just wouldnt pick them.
Were in a hole by the looks at the moment but its early days.

Good coaches get the most our of poorer players. Powell made a damn good job of it at Cas to be fair. Our coaches couldn't do what he did at Cas with the same players.
We are in a hole of our own making, and don't learn. It only prolongs the wait to get out more.
We should have appointed Griffin last year, no ifs or buts, but gone for it. With the model we had with youngsters coming through, and the need to change the ethos, and get rid of some, he was the perfect match for that. It is exactly what he has done in his last couple of jobs.

Yes and could you see Leeds really employing either Radford or Chester - no if you were to be really honest - it would be a first but give it a try?

The difference is Robinson would had not signed the likes of Evans, Corey Johnson and Holroyd would be much nearer the first team product than they are now - the structures would be set - especially the attack, the players would be fitter, the likes of Lui and Hurrell would be at least a stone lighter if not two etc

Absolutely no need for that, won’t be discussing it further with you.

Wasn't Furner attempting to do the same but Sinfield nipped it in the bud?
We should have kept Furner imo and allowed him to do what he felt he needed to and we may be looking at a total different scenario right now.
Griffin is a good shout but it seems clear they wanted a puppet after the first guy tried to burn out the dead wood.
