| By my reckoning, I reckon he'd only be getting around £25k/£30k a year nowadays, so I could see it happening.
Would be a real sign of the times in terms of signings though. Simply awful!

| If we re-sign Bailey it will tell us all we need to know about our ambitions for 2017.

| My favourite bit from that link
Bailey has played 329 games in Super League, 307 with Leeds Rhinos. He has represented both England and Wales on 4 occasions and is known as one of the best forwards to play the game.

| Here is an idea. Don't sign Ryan Bailey and do give Jordan Baldwinson some genuine game time. 2 birds 1 stone .

| On a serious note it shouldn't/won't happen.
I was pleased for him last year, getting back on track/discussing his rugby not antics. But if we re signing a Gareth Ellis style player back, like Hull did a couple of years ago i'd be all over it. Leeds are short of real quality in that pack and need some adding. Bails would do some form of a job, but think we need a real difference maker.

Not sure about the won't bit. Bailey's retweeted a couple of tweets from people saying they hope the rumours of him returning to Leeds are true.

| Maybe Ormondroyd will be the new Baldwinson? Or perhaps they both will. I literally can't see the point in retaining Baldwinson if he doesn't get some first team games this year.

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

That is all about McDermott showing who is boss - its pathetic. Let the lad go he clearly doesn't figure in your plans if he did Leeds would not have signed Ormondroyd or Mullally

Nonsense, you really think they're keeping a player they have no intention of using just to show who is boss. He's now at the same age Singleton was when he started to get games (his previous two seasons consisted of a solitary sub appearance both years). We've seen they don't rush young props in yet every time people carrying on thinking McDermott isn't playing them out of spite, it's ridiculous on high scale even for this forum.
Also Baldwinson is quite capable of asking to be released if he feels he's not going to get a shot and I'm sure the club would oblige if he didn't want to be here......and before anyone mentions Segeyaro that is quite clearly a much different case with a starter who was crucial to our plans with no real proper backup and had only just signed a contract.

| Last year when we were beyond awful Baldwinson barely got a sniff. Even though prop wasn't our worst position, throwing someone else in with a point to prove would surely have been in order at some stage. It would have given Baldwinson a chance to show what he's got and also helped shake things up, even just a little bit.
I don't believe BM didn't pick him out of spite or other such nonsense. I just think he had no idea how to get the team out of the mess it got itself into.

Agree it was nothing to do with spite. I suspect it was because he simply did not think Baldwinson would have improved us. He gets a chance to stake a claim on Boxing Day.

I agree with your second point, but disagree on the first one.
I just don't think prop was an issue for us last year, unlike other positions.
With the second point, he already admitted his mistake in not developing players, when wins was all that mattered. Personally I think that was a direct reference to Baldwinson.
