| Quote: Gotcha "Thought Moon played well. Gutted but not disappointed.
Garbutt absolutely incredible. Parcel and Cuthbertson brilliant. Our back line excellent.
Sutcliffe cost us. But only one poor player, luckily the coach did recognise it and not put him back on.'"
Moon was much better in the 2nd half, Sutcliffe, should be one of the best players in the country, but he just lets games pass him by, he's a poor man's version of Leon Pryce.
Agree re Garbutt. I personally think he's the best prop in the competition, and if he was English, he'd get a lot more praise. We're a different side with him in it.
It's difficult to pick faults, as everyone gave their all, but having gotten in a winning position, to blow it again is hard to take. Those one point losses go the other way, and the season would be view very differently.

| Disappointing result but a lot to like about the performance.
Having Garbutt back makes a hell of a difference. It's no coincidence that suddenly Cuthbertson is back to what he does best, offloading, and Parcell is making metres for fun. Add a fit Singleton and Ward to that pack and we would be in pretty good shape.

| Great game and I thought you were unlucky to lose. I can only assume Ferres must have thought the game was won to dot the ball down there and celebrate. I've knocked Parcell on here for his poor distribution from dummy half but the lad was top notch tonight.

| I think Ferres panicked having juggled the ball and probably thought a Saints player was behind him. Dunno.
Overall a pleasing performance. Thought the props was magnificent, Parcell was sensational tonight. Great to see us offloading and at least trying to attack instead of some of the nonsense we've watched at times.
Both Hall and Briscoe had great games and carried the ball well and young Walker defended well and was brave tonight.
Think Cuthbo should remain as skipper for rest of the season now.
Let's hope that effort and intensity is evident on Wednesday.

Lol diddums. Admittedly we didn’t play well tonight but winning ugly a sign of a good side. Once Amor & Walmsley return we will be a real threat for both trophies this season. “Champion side” - what a whopper we’ve got more than DOUBLE your league points this season to date. Your closer to bottom of the league than top.

Yeah but our full back isn't going home at end of the season.

Correct. Rugby league is a simple game based on your big men putting you on the front foot so your backs can show off their footwork and handling skills. They also are key in defence as their strength means attackers stay tackled for longer. You can go without your big men for the odd match but to go without them for the majority of the season is a major handicap.
I applaud the excellent performance last night against the odds as the players stuck to the coach's intelligent game plan. Missed tackles from our centres led to half their tries so in the end it was missed tackles and missed goal kicks that cost us the game.
I thought Parcell was a deserved MOM which was made possible by excellent work from Garbutt, Cuthbertson, Hall and Briscoe. Moon was always a threat and Ferris looks to be getting some fitness and form back. Sutcliffe remains a disappointment
If we play like that for the rest of the season we will win most of our matches and if we can get some of the first choices back from injury too then we can finish the season positively.

| I am struggling to understand how Leeds managed to lose that game. They totally dominated 3/4s of the game and came away empty handed. Magnificent effort by the whole team.
In Barba - Saints do have the ex factor player the pass he put in for the try was sublime his ability to ghost through for his try was awesome to watch - what a player
I watched the game from the seating in the Carniege - what a great place to watch from

Have to agree, whist i don’t generally think walters us as bad as some make out, he showed how out if his depth he was. There first try as soon as i saw him nail his own feet to the floor opposite Barba a screamed noooo, Barba stud him up like a pack of bricks on an ice rink.
You cant just back if or stand and watch barba like that, you have to pressure him, if you miss him or he beats you so what it gives other the chance to cover, we pressured him and gave him no space all night and handled him pretty well.

You lost because you had no real last tackle plays or threats in the opposition 20. I reckon had myler played you'd have won. saints are going well but look vulnerable when teams front up to them as leeds did last night and Hull did in the cup
They've been lucky this season with injuries which seems to be the major dictating factor in who does well in SL these days.

| 6 reguler games left, 7 super 8’s. Play like that and get just 2-3 players back reckon we can win 11/13 games that could put us back in contention. And challenge cup, final “hold your nerve”

| Really enjoyed the game. Thought Garbutt, yet again, was absolutely brilliant, English qualified soon??? Hall, Cuthbertson Parcell and Briscoe great aswel.
Walters looked like an amature playing pro rugby, very poor. Suttcliffe isnt and never will be a half back. I thought he done some good things last night, but they were all things you would look for in a backrower. To me that looks his best position, its also the position the squad is severely lacking some young atheletic players, seems common sense to play him there, epecially looking to the makeup of next years squad.
