Will I still be allowed to associate with other board members when I see them at matches , or am I now a social leper on matchdays ?'"
Depends if the other board members you associate with have season tickets or not.
Can't have a true/untrue fan mix now can we?

| I would argue the squad in 2003 and 2005 were superior to that of 2011 and 2012 does winning the trophy relate to the quality of the squad or the quality of the opposition?

That's right luck plays a part.
The 2010 squad was better on paper than the Championship winning squad of 2009, IMO. Perhaps the longer run in the Challenge Cup had an adverse effect on the defence as did the crucial loss of Peacock and McGuire.
Best laid plans and all that.
The 2013 squad on paper or the 2010 squad ?

| I've got a season ticket again - but only because it's part of our family tradition.
I missed more games than ever last season, and if more of the same is served up this year, I'll miss more again.
Although I consider myself one of the staunchest of supporters, at the end of the day, I go to the games for enjoyment of watching a decent game of RL - And based on the last couple of years, if it's a choice between watching a probable awful Leeds v Salford game live at Headingley (and spending a small fortune on food and drink), or staying in and watching a half decent Wigan v Wire game on the telly, I'll be staying at home - it's cheaper, it's easier, and unfortunately it's more enjoyable.
I couldn't give a flying f*ck if that means i get given a label by the self righteous - if the club start putting the effort in to each game so that it's enjoyable to watch every week, no doubt I'll be there every week - if not, I'll pick and choose, and fair play to all the others that do the same.
Times are hard for alot of people right now, and nobody can blame people for being more selective with their exposable income. If GH wants people to spend their money during the regular season, eventually the team have got to start performing during the regular season.

| Before I could afford to lay out for a season ticket which is a long time ago,I went to most games. It then became part of my budget to buy one even if I missed a couple of games.

A season ticket used to provide value - games where the results all mattered and, IIRC, you also got 15 home games for the price of around 9. When the results of those games no longer matter that much, where the team toss it off during most of them and you only get 13 for the price of 11, there's more than enough reasons not to bother purchasing one these days.

I do tend to agree with you regarding the lessening value of your season ticket. A season ticket's primary purpose is to allow you to enter the ground on match days. Over recent years the season tickets at Leeds have been loaded with additional and unnecessary extras to detract for the fact you're getting less games for your buck.
For example:
£10 voucher for the shop - this I have used.
Voucher for away travel - never used this
Entrance to selected bars pre/post match - never used this
Year book - never read one
Priority tickets for finals - this I have used but with each season ticket allowing the purchase of up to 4 final tickets, I know enough people who are either Leeds Line agents, Rhinos 2000 members or have their own season tickets to enable to still get 'priority' tickets without being a season ticket holder.
Although I do enjoying watching a decent performance, going to a match is more than just watching the game for me. It's about getting out on a Friday night, meeting friends, having a couple of beers and a catchup. Being able to praise or lament the performance with mates.
I'd be much happier to lose all the extra crap that comes with a season ticket for a couple of extra free games.

A virtually useless "perk" these days, gone are the days when you had to queue twice around the cricket pitch on a Sunday morning even with a season ticket and hope that they still had some left when you got to the office, if you want to go to either final these days you just order them online from the RFL or even buy them on the day, there is no shortage of tickets, no reason to buy a season ticket to be first in line for a final.
Season tickets for standing areas of the ground are a marketing triumph of selling a fear of being non-inclusive against common sense, a one minute pause before clicking the "Buy Now" button and the question "Is there even a remote possibility that I will unavoidably miss at least two games this season" should make anyone over the age of 25 not click the button for a season ticket in a standing area of the ground, click the button and they've sold you, hook, line and sinker - they are very good at their job.
One more thing - season ticket holders for adult Leeds Carnegie supporters - they should get a national marketing award for that one.

| My lad plays Rugby, and chances are he'll get a half time slot at least once a year....so I get in for £10
He also at least twice a season brings home a voucher from school for Adult & Child for £10
I have family & friends who still buy ST's who occasionally offer me a 'freebie'
Who needs a season ticket???
See you Boxing Day. I am going thanks to a £10 adult & kid voucher

Whilst the rest of us have to pay full prices for tickets this scrounger probably takes the Rhinos for all they've got.
