I know icon_sad.gif

In this case it's dissapointing. I'm still hoping it happens though. A lot of players rubbish speculation before they leave. We need a decent half back partner for McGuire.

Quote: craigizzard "Scrum-halves can make things easier for packs too, by providing them with smart ball and putting them through gaps. That's never been Burrow's game, but perhaps that (along with a better kicking game) is what we need from a scrum-half when the pack isn't capable of opening up the field on-demand for a nippy support runner to look good.'"

That's a lot easier to do when you're at first receiver, unfortunately with there being other playmakers in the team burrow doesn't get as much opportunity to play that role as other scrum halves.

You can take that as being because, either he isn't rated as good as other players at the first receiver role or the coach sees the benefits of him playing a wider role, where his pace and running ability are used to his advantage.

My comments were cut and pasted from a certain other female contributor in her response to somebody in agreement with her.....the main point was mocking parody.

I thought you at least would have sense to realise that. How disappointing. icon_rolleyes.gif

Everyone to their own but for me the wee fella is the best British SH around, yes he didn't have a good season but apart from Mags who did. His tackling on the fringes covering for others is first class and support play good perhaps he may need to get another bow to his attacking duck and run but sam tomkins is being hailed as a great on the back of spider legs and one trick side step. Anyway I know who I'd rather have my back in a fight

Personally I still don't think Burrow will regain the sort of class he had previous to 2008. But I do see him having a better year this coming season. I think the change we have had in coach, adding a big prop, and the change at dummy half will see Burrow prosper a little more this year.

icon_rolleyes.gif What on earth is it with people constantly messing about with people's positions!?

The guy has the odd run from Dummy Half and people are calling for him to be a hooker and saying the most stupid of comments like "Burrow isn't a Scrum Half".

I've got a cracking idea...

Let's pay a hell of a lot of money and salary for one of the best hookers the game has ever seen who's made his legendary name by playing 80 minutes at a time, putting our long serving, academy trained No. 9's nose out of joint in doing so, then miserably and ineffectively rotate the two of them for a couple of years so as not to offend the less gifted of the two, then... here's the genius part of my plan... just as we've somehow managed to get the more average hooker to leave on good terms without ever cottoning on to the fact he was replaced 2 years ago, and without a bad word to say about the club, finally giving the world class hooker the opportunity to play 80 minutes, earn his huge salary and own the role, we move a man who's played scrum half for his entire 10 year professional career to hooker.

That'll work a charm! icon_rolleyes.gif

Lets hope he stays at scrum half, I think he will and buderus will be playing longer game time hopefully, robbie ain't no hooker and I for one would not like to see him defending in the centre field against the big guys.

Just to clarify my own posting here, although I thought it was clear. I am not suggesting Burrow at hooker. When I said change at dummy half I was talking about Buderus having more time, and not having a ponderous player filling in.

Ok let's make this clear....

Burrow is a great player to have around with speed, guts and real tackling ability....but he aint a scrum half in the conventional sense who will better complement McGuire.

I , for one, am not advocating he be interchanged with Buderus for equal stints as per the ludicrous persistence with Diskin. Countless times I have supported the idea of the superior Buderus being given the whole match.
Rather, I see Burrow better utilised as an impact sub either at dummy half or as cover for half back. Whether he would be happy with that is another matter.
