| While we are at it, perhaps we should ban all dogs because of a minority of irresponsible owners or ban all cars because of a minority of s on the roads?
Identify and punish those at fault without punishing everyone.

You obviously are unable to recognise Richie’s childish brand of sarcasm – he was probably drunk when he posted this but top marks for your OTT kneejerk reaction.

| All the FANS on the Wolves side will agree with all the FANS on here that these idiots do not appear to be real fans and probably saw the final as an excuse to go out for a p###-up for the day. Of all the games that could possibly provide TV/CCTV/Photo proof this was perhaps the one that the RFL etc get the most evidence of those involved. Lets chuck the book at them and support both our clubs when it takes action against these pi###cks.
Personlly I had no problem with the Leeds fans on Saturday. Good banter before hand and after the game.

| The key issue is how do we stop it. As a long established football fan I got fed up with the premier league when my team started playing one up front at home. I was attracted to RL by the effort demanded in the sport, the committment of the players and the ability to stand up and watch the game with a pint or two. As a result I have been following leeds home and away for the last 5 years and this was my fourth CC final. When we playes away at Saints a couple of years back the weather was so bad that all the Saints fans from the open end moved to the traditional away end at half time and a crucial match was played with large sections of opposing fans stood next to each other. No trouble, great banter and a truly super experience. This sadly does not apply to the big finals where the number of drunks attending provides a significant risk of spoiling the day. Stopping the sale of drink in the stadium would not work and would punish those who enjoy this facility. Personally for final I now tend to have a drink or two well away from the ground prior to arriving and getting into the stadium as quickly as possible. Then its all down to luck in terms of where you are sat and who you are sat with. To date we have been lucky but we cant pretend it doesnt happen and we need to do something about it. To date I have been captured by the geat spirit of RL but cant imagine any new fan experiencing the issues raised here returning for another match! So how do we take the random risk element out of such occasions without limiting the opportunities of the responsible majority?

| There's always been potential for a bit of off field biff at Wembley. I remember late 70's, 77 or 78, being involved with some emotional Widnes supporters before the big match, when a bit of banter got up there noses.
Did they start the punch up?...yes
Did we tw@@t them?....yes
Did they run away for reinforcements?....yes
Did they return with a whole coachload of the ugliest fookers outside of Castleford?....yes
Did we then make a strategic withdrawl?...yes
Did anybody die?.....NO
Early morning starts, plus a load of ale, can sometimes end in tears, or a ride in the nice policeman's car.

I saw it all kick off from where we were (in the corner at wire end) it was not good. "Wire" and "leeds" fans involved a man was trying to protect his child who was crying in the middle of the mele. What is the need in idiots ruining our game?

If we add ALL the Rhinos fans that regularly attend home games week in, week out to ALL the Wire fans that do the same it doesn’t even come close to 85K, not even half.
This means there were 40(+)K ‘none fans’ were in attendance, I’m betting my left bollock that these so called fans wouldn’t even know their way to either Headingley or the HJ.'"
I agree with you. The wire fans, Leeds fans and neutrals that go and watch there own teams week in week out would never dream of causing trouble, specially at the showpiece game of the season. Unfortunatly warrington and leeds would have attracted a fair amount of day trippers who couldn't give a stuff about the reputations of these two fine clubs. I don't think the truth will ever be known about the identities of these idiots but i would'nt bet against that these were the day trippers. I had a great day last saturday, went to the premier inn before and after the match where they had an outdoor bar and music. It was filled with leeds, wire, hull, KR, saints, wigan, etc etc and the thing that stood out was everywhere you looked was groups of fans in different club shirts all having a laugh and giving predictions.

I wouldn't worry about it. Ramrod doesn't get many bites so he'll probably claim this as one. Like I say, don't worry about it though.

Strange how it's always the shaven headed guys that cause trouble

No it wasn't although there were a number of Cas fans in that block which appeared to have been partially allocated to the friends/family of the schools finalists, including Temple Moor. Beer throwing chimps in Wire shirts had been targetting the block from kick off and one loiner (in a Rhino's polo shirt) eventually retaliated by hurling his pint towards the massed ranks of Warrington fans and the ruck ensued. As a Cas fan myself I've no love for the Rhinos but I found their fans better behaved than the fancy-dress wearing, off-their-face, bandwaggon chasers from Warrington who seemed to be there for the event more than the game itself (judging by how many of them were at the bars during play)
