I played a 4 or 5 games for Yorkshire Amateurs maybe around 72 and if memory serves me right I`m sure we won a Cup of some description that year. Memory not as good as it used to be!Don`t suppose you ever played with an Ian Green who was at St Kevs at the time?
Btw, which school did you go to Chapy ? I’m assuming you’re from Chapeltown or Chapel Allerton ? Started at Chapeltown Primary which now goes as Chapel Allerton Primary (sounds posher!) And we moved higher up Scott Hall Road so ended up at Allerton Grange left at 15 and went to Park Lane for a year and started work. Sorry the rest of you as I`m sure you are not remotely interested in this. Back in those days, the higher you moved up Scott Hall Road the better you had done for yourself. LS7 to LS17 used to be a big social climb back then. Who would have thought the yuppies would be rushing to buy a terraced house in The Methley’s many years later ? Gentrification eh !As for the football, it’s a good point you make about Firpo. The drop in quality of his game becomes apparent when he’s having to defend. That’s maybe why Leeds aren’t breaking their necks to strike a deal. It can be a worry how easily players go past him in The Championship, and the Premier League is different gravy if we go up. It’s beginning to look like the risk the owners took on not recruiting in January and letting some deals run down may be advantageous come the end of May if we’re planning for a top flight campaign.

As to the game could easily have won 5-1 with Piroe 3 times, Gnonto and Aaronson and I think Gruev missing pretty easy chances. Firpo again letting the wide man come inside for their goal. Whilst Gnonto was ok I thought we missed the pace of Dan James. Bogle my man of the match. And what a difference a slightly above average keeper makes.
Morning chaps. For some reason couldn't post all weekend, couldn't open the site... Anyways, thought the performance was superb at the weekend, absolutely battered them. Thought Piroe was a bit unlucky, the shot from 3 yards was an unbelievable block by the Preston defender.. he was miles better than he has been in the last 3 games or so.. much more lively and had a good go. We nearly got punished though but thank the lord we kept our nerve... Thought Tanaka still looked iffy, physically he looks cooked. He was slightly better than Midds away but still not great - left holes a mile wide in midfield Preston had a go which is credit to them.. all teams are dangerous this time of year as those with nothing to play for aren't going to sit back at Elland Rd, they might as well have a go and the teams at the bottom are fighting for their lives.. as we saw with Plymouth.. i'd like us to be home and hosed by that last game that's for sure. I think 6 points will do it from here.. Sheff U will drop more points. A few blunts fans i know said to me it's been coming.. Wilder completely lost the plot at the weekend, not good at all for them lol

| Really enjoyed the game on Saturday but it was a nervy last 10minutes, even though we pretty much dominated the game.
Solomon excellent in the first half, Bogle was my motm, big threat down the right, but you could tell he was struggling by the end of the game.
Biggest cheers of the day were Darlow doing routine catches, which says a lot about how our season has gone with Meslier.

| Dan James shortlisted for Championship Player Of The Year, with Hamer from Blades and Trafford from Burnley. Only one winner for me, James is miles ahead. Think it will be a double when he wins LUFC Player Of The Year. There?s nobody else like him in this division.

| I would have gone for Rodon personally and Tanaka up until the International break.. Tanakas form seems to have dropped somewhat since then coinciding with him being left out of the 11 on his return. Hamer also has had a few blips recently. Trafford would be my choice. James has been very very good most of the time and can see why he has been nominated.

Tanaka started the season late, had a really impressive spell, but then he?s been average at best and poor at times for the last month. He?s played himself out of contention for the award at E. R. There?s only three realistic contenders for me, Dan James, Rodon, and Jayden Bogle. I wouldn?t complain if any of those three won the Leeds Player Of The Year, but would like to see James or Bogle tbh.

| That was the solid, hard working display that we needed last night. Got to say we have some real grafters on the pitch this season, and that?s a big part of our success and hopefully promotion. Rodon was immense last night, a real leader, and I love his whole attitude to the game. Bogle again strong down the right and Darlow good on the basics apart from his little Meslier moment. What I like about this bunch is their team ethic and commitment. Solomon had his little meltdown at Q.P.R but Farke seems to have handled it well and there?s been no real dramas or big time Charlie?s out there. Come on lads, finish the job.

Yeah needed killing off but we?re a bit unlucky, Tanakas shot was superb and deserved a goal. Gnonto looked rusty, think he makes way for James Monday
