And which of those films were you expecting to be brilliant?

I don't know much about film history, but could you class that as one of the first comedy spoofs about film genre's??? Compared to more modern films like Scream or Shaun Of The Dead. As it is a take on popular film and actions. Or maybe I'm well out!!!!

'Last Action Hero' is 50% the most disappointing film for me. When they are inside the film and taking the mickey out of the genre it's good stuff, but then when they come out into the 'real world' and it turns into another 'Arnie babysits an annoying brat' movie it becomes incredibly rubbish.

I'll agree with that. When they are inside the film I think its great and Arnie does a really good job of taking the mick out of himself but it does go down hill nearer the end

Speaking of Arnie, did you see the bit in QI last week when they were talking about dubbing Terminator (I think) into German?

As a spoof it covers a lot of bases: action films/heros/dodgy villans/oddjob was in it, wasn't he as a butler??/cartoon cats/ET/New York V LA etc etc. Surely the biggest juxtaposition was casting Arnie as the main man.

Watched "I am Legend" last night.

Thought it was rubbish. Might have been a bit better if they'd have made the monsters real people instead of the worst CGI I've seen in years

It has to be. I saw the Simpsons parody of it years ago and thought it would make a great film but I was very dissapointed!

I've seen it and I would share your opinion. Great concept for a film, but the result is disappointing. I even dragged my fat to the cinema to see it, my only consolation was that it was an Orange Wednesday special so it was a cheapy. Dodgy end to the film also.

No, read the book instead. It's fab.
