I watched Golding in the Summer Bash game and didn't see anything that would make him deserve selection above Walker

There is nothing to his game unfortunately. To be fair when he gets the ball in hand, he looks like one of those players who gets your bum off the seat, although rarely actually does the deed. However, as you saw on Saturday, he can run forward all he likes, but as soon as he hits the collission he is taken backwards, and it is this reason why he hasn't been selected, he is physically just too weak. He also can not make a pass when connecting into the line, which nullify's good set moves.

Exactly, you wouldn't play a fit, world-class player out of position so why play an unfit, struggling one out of position? Makes no sense.

Sounds like Walker at this moment in time.
Both have the attributes with Walker probably edging it for flair but Golding edging it for his defence.
In fact probably the best passer of the ball when he links up from full back is Lolohea.

You see that is where I differ, I am not sure what people are watching with Walker in defence, and think there is some sort of myth forming. His defence is far better than given credit for, and he does not get knocked back, and with the ball he always goes forward, not back. We look a far better team when Walker is in the team, than when not.

People just see what they want to see for conformation bias, we are all guilty of it really.
But Walker is clearly the best full back at the club, he is young and will make mistakes but what he offers the team far outweighs those mistakes.

I'd drop Watkins, hate to say it (depending on whether Hurrell is fit). Mustapha and Trout would be close too. Sutcliffe benched to give cover in backline, or to spell second rowers.

| I'd be happy with that. If Hurrell is properly fit, and Newman on good form, I have no qualms in giving Watkins a rest. His defensive work-rate has been massive for us though, despite other perceived issues. Could still do a job in the back row if we are short there.

| Actually if he bulks up, second row might be where he’s heading. He looks like he’s running through cement in the centres at the minute.

Bulking up at this stage of the season would take some doing. It seems to me that he has lost some timber and looks really skinny at the moment.

supported by - keeping the ball in play - not
goal line defence - poor
