| Well, we've all been crying out for an Ali-type offloading, wide-running 2nd row for years now, and this is as close as we'd get to that.
If we could get T-Rex enjoying his rugby again like we did Ali then it could be a great signing. It is a gamble though. And, as said on the other thread it would leave us with an uncomfortably high number of Anzacs unless Achurch is cut. Though T-Rex for Achurch would still probably be a positive move even if Williams is playing at 50%.

| Thing about Wigan is that they cannot keep hold of their top players.. Looking at the list of backs just listed, it looks like four of them will be on the way out if rumours are to be believed. Bowen (Home), Hampshire (Another SL club), Burgess (Sydney Roosters), Sarginson (NRL/Union), Charnley (Union). What does that say about their structure?

| Quote: Biff Tannen "Agreed.
Could say exactly the same about Saints too and Wigan to some extent.Any of those 3 sides with our backline would romp away with the SL title.'"
Our first choice back line is very good imo.
Lomax, Makinson, Turner, Percival, Swift is a very strong back line.
Clearly Leeds have the best one but it's a stretch to say that is poor. Percy will become the best centre in Britain imo, massive talent. Turner has also been outstanding this year.

You're right, sorry. You have a long history of posting really well balanced responses on here every time Leeds lose.
Maybe I should go back and quote a few examples.

That's true and very important, Mossop and Joel also left and like Ssm only returned because things didn't turn out well in their new environment.

| Quote: William Eve "Might be T-Rex.
That's the rumour anyhow.
Canterbury have had a gutful of him as he's seen as a huge waste of money and the fans haven't taken to him either. Been playing like a bludger since he left Manly, and that's when he actually plays and isn't out injured.
Ideal resume for a SL career then.'"
OMG... where have you been mate?

Lomax is a talent indeed, just wonder if he'll ever be able to string a full season together. Could be one of them sports players who seem destined to be called an injury prone crock.

The few games he played at the start of the year weren't promising, the guy looked slower than Wellens. I hope he will fulfill his potential, but I have my doubts.

Percival is all class mate, you've got a good one there. But I just don't see it with Turner. Don't rate him at all.

Turner's a ball-playing loose forward at best. He's not got the footwork or agility to play in the centre, and reads the game terribly leaving those inside and outside him exposed. Bit of a poor man's Chev Walker.

Lomax is decent but is made of biscuits and hasn't consistently been top class imo.
Makinson-I think he is top quality very versatile and doesn't get the plaudits he deserves.
Percival-Has stacks of potential but is not and will not be as good as Watkins imo plus ?'s remain about him picking up injuries.
Swift-Decent enough and a good finisher.
Turner-Runs too hot and cold for me and other than "sick-note jonny" is the weak link.

| Saint's backs are decent SL level, that will do OK provided their pack plays well, but when they're pack is being blitzed they're too small to take some of the slack, the 2 games against Leeds and Souths show that. They're in dire need of some quality in the backs.
