First and foremost the positives;
He looks big so if he can carry it well we do lack size in the backrow.
Still young
English family so should settle fairly well if he has family around etc.. though I dont know where they are based.
The negatives for me though outweigh at the moment;
Do we need another backrower? We have JJB, Clarkson, Delaney,Ablett, Weller, Stevie not to mention the likes of Singleton etc.. coing up.
At this point he sounds like a 'never made it in Oz' type so not exactly a marquee signing.
Two shoulder recons does not bode well.
When I first read his size I thought great 'a big, young prop, just what we need' Im expecting him to slot in there.
If that happens then Im happy, and will be happier when we sign a quality centre as well.

As others have pointed out, this is the level of overseas signing to expect these days.

Purchases from Waitrose are a thing of the past.
All SL clubs will have to make do with Aldi instead.

Correct.. ideally we don't want to bring in overseas signings - we should be wanting British but there aint enough of em available or enough that are good enough. The cap here has stayed the same so we can no longer bring in the big names for down under..
Achurch could turn out to be a very useful signing.. good age, will settle well, good size etc.. but we will have to see.. |
