Incidentally - Girona is pretty good - there is more to do there than Perpignan - especially on a Sunday and the drinks prices are better....

We had fun coming back when the Foti with the Goatee's people carrier struggled to get over the maountain pass back to Girona.

Carcassone suits me have family there, saves a trip to Liverpool for the flight.

I do think Jet 2 missed an opportunity in not flying to Perpignan, could have had planes going out full most weeks.

Indeed, considering how they're supposed to have their finger on the rugby pluse, how much were they lobbied to put a flight on to SW France ?

If Ryanair will fly to Girona, Carcassone or Montpellier (all within spitting distance of Perpignan) at a reasonable rate, then good luck to them.

This year, I got 13kg of dive kit and clothes checked in as hold luggage and the rest of my stuff went in the cabin baggage. Perfectly adequate for nearly a week in Spain ....

I was 'stuck' there for a couple of hours on the Sunday after the Catalans game .... Wish I'd have known, the Catalunya XIII team were playing a French side at the local university that day. A couple of weeks later, they played a Morrocan side in a small town about 3 miles outside of where GCH, Lord Percy and I stay. They got over 1000 for the Morroco game. It would be great to do that game on the back of a Catalans game. How much kudos would you have with the locals, turning up in a Leeds shirt for it ?

Getting a Visa Electron card just to pay for your flights is a bit extreme though. It's the charges for that which really grate with me. OK, a one-off fee per transaction would be just about palatable, but when they're charging each of you extra to pay that's just plain wrong. Include it in the price in that case, we've all got to pay it anyway.

Actually, the more you dump the cheaper the fare should be. If I drop a few pounds via the toilet during the flight it will save fuel.

Then again, that brings up the question of should fatties pay more?

That was another of his plans, charging people over a certain size extra as they took up more room. If you go down that route, why not cheaper fares for short-ar$es?

You know you can soon fly for free on Ryanair if you are willing to stand up for the fight.

Over a certain fair weight then yes. Say 20st. If you go over your luggage allowance then you get charged extra. When it shouldn't make a difference if you are thin.

Maybe you should be charged for you whole weight impact on the plane.
