Barring JJB, Bailey and Ablett the "academy production line" has very rarely produced the calibre of forward similar to the ones we have brought in from elsewhere . The forwards production line, especially the props is more like a merry-go-round. |

Tom Burgess isn't average at all. He's a standout in the NRL, regularly making big yards. He doesn't have quite the dynamism of George, but it speaks volumes that in general play Souths don't miss a beat when he comes on for his brother. He's also effectively a year behind George in his development.
Luke OTOH looked OK at the end of last year but desperately average this year even before his injury (although its possible he had a problem reducing his effectiveness).

We must agree to differ his stats in the two games have been distinctly average his lateral defence is non existent - perhaps a player that looks good in a dominant side? |

Which begs the question as to which player had a medical at HQ this week. Was rumoured to be Mossop but given no further news or comment by the club as to whether this took place and who it was, IF it was Mossop, I can only speculate that the lack of news is due to the fact that he failed his medical due to his two serious shoulder injuries the last 12 months.
Had the medical gone OK then surely the signing would have been announced by now and this morning at the shirt launch would have been the perfect opportunity |
