| Until Dr Koukash puts his money where his mouth is and gets an 8k+ average at Salford I'll continue to regard his views as having little credibility.

| It's great to see that the Dr has managed to ruffle the feathers of the so called big clubs already, despite us being a lowly 10th position in the league standings. Imagine the mock outrage if we actually do something radical like make the play offs?
The long standing era of RFL standing for Rugby Football Leeds is coming to an end.

| Come on lets get real, the games been stagnating for years, we need people from the outside who can see R.L in a different light and bring fresh ideas in like Maurice Lindsey and before him, Brian Snape, to bring up to speed with the real world

Wow, seriously?
How long has this been going on then? Just the last 10 years whilst Leeds have been winning stuff i'm guessing.

It's good to have ambition. I'm sure the good Doc will consider that a great return on his investment!

| I think the Dr is ok. He can take things a bit far in his outbursts at times and could maybe do with a bit of self control at times but generally he's fine.
I think there is a bit of concern by other teams fans that we'll have a team storm up and take the trophies (eventually) and I don't think much of the concern is for Salford's well being if he left them.
I think he and the more ambitious thinking is what the sport needs here in the UK but at the same time it's also good that the brakes are being put on him. If he can help introduce a more positive looking competition then so be it, it just has to be done at an appropriate timescale and plan and not rushed to suit Koucash. If he and some of the other chairmen can find a middle ground then it could be very good.
I've not been one for predicting doom or his departure on Salford fans, but the rumours of Newcastle Knights would concern me if I were a Salford fan. Not that he'd give up on Salford but his focus levels on it would surely drop and the signing of the like of Locke would be slimmer in the future as that signing would surely end up at Newcastle instead in the future.

Its also worth noting that one of the first things Gary Hetherington and Paul Caddick did at Leeds was spend a world record transfer fee on young Mr Harris.'"
Good point. Now Koukash wants to do what other clubs have done in the past, many RL fans seem to go into meltdown. Probably the same people who start hash tag campaigns on twitter etc.

| I hope Koukash makes Salford a massive force in the game. Why would any right minded rugby league fan want anything different?
I'm not sure he will short term and I'm not sure he can display the same patience to play the long game that Caddick and Hetherington did between 1997 and 2004 but it's certainly interesting watching.

While I share your views with that comment, its just a shame that a minority of your fans act so bitter towards us even though you keep winning silverware and we apparently won't be a team in couple of years with Marwan definite to leave us.

| Am I alone amonst non-Salford fans in thinking that koukash coming out with sometimes outrageous statements which get airtime isn't necessarily a bad thing?

Not at all, I would however question how much airtime he's getting outside the RL world now though.
And I hope he doesn't believe half the stuff he comes out with.

| I think he's good for the sport - investing in a club, bringing in fresh ideas and trying to push through things to improve the league (in terms of being exciting and interesting to other potential investors mainly).
That being said, he's also a complete and utter gobe and to say he's been involved in the sport less than 2 years he could really do to reign it in a little bit sometimes.

No, not at all.
Koukash, for all of his faults, actually speaks very positively and passionately about the game. He clearly wants to make things better.
I'd much rather listen to him than someone like Ian Lenaghan, who's only interest is seemingly in complaining about the governing body without actually demonstrating that he can do any better himself.

| I hope it works out for Salford. As their fans have said without Koukash putting up the cash the club would be in the gutter. I expected them to make the play offs comfortably this season but it hasnt worked out that way at all.bringing Harris in though does now seem to be having an effect so i hope he gets the time needed to shape a squad capable of mixing it at the top, Its what the game needs.I suppose the big question is will Koukash have the required patience to see the job through for the several years it will probably take?

I think that last sentence sums up most people's concerns about the good Dr.
I recall when Salford were a top team in the era of Watkins, Fielding et al & would welcome them returning to such glory days - just behind the Rhinos of course. Time was when a visit to the Willows on a Sunday afternoon was one of the best away days of the season. Provided you found your car undamaged at the end of the match.
