| Quote: nantwichexile "It's good to see both old timer props playing the best they have ever played (within memory at least). Possibly it's a sad reflection on the general SL standards that both continue to match - or even surpass - the best in the competition, but I too would be happy to see Kylie in Leeds colours next season if his present form can be guaranteed. There be the crux.
Are we not at risk of the one-season-too-far-syndrome?'"
Especially if you add up the minutes he is on the pitch then he only plays the equivalant of about 10 games a season anyway
I too think Moore gets some stick on here as I have not seen him let anyone down when he plays and should/could have been used in games against Cas and London recently along with Singleton.

| In an article in one of the match days programmes last year Bailey made a passing comment about playing in the team for another ten years. With JP and Kylie batting on, looks a realistic target.

| It's also a massive credit to the way that Richard Hunwicks and the rest of the coaching and conditioning team manage the players workloads that the likes of Leuluai feel that they can still contribute despite their advancing years.

That's why he is getting a new contract, Hunwicks is looking at 2008 data, having lost the up to date.

| Certainly looked like he is earning another year. I might just be imagine it but his go forward this season with ball in hand looks alot stronger than previous years. He always hurts the opposition in the tackling but his running with ball in hand looks good

I would go as far to say best game in a Leeds shirt. Thought he as by far the MOM, simply outstanding. That is no disrespect to other players, but Kylie was just superb. His work rate as well which is not something he is normally known for. Hope he does not pick up a ban for that one on Evans.
By contrast, not bothered if Bailey does pick one up for his. How poor he was in comparison.

| Clearly, four games out hasn't taught Bailey anything.
Needs to spend a bit more time concentrating on being a professional rugby league player and less time on his clothing range and image.

| The 'Dad's Army' front row belonged to GB under Peter Fox in the 2nd Test at Odsal in 1978. Jim Mills (34), Tony Fisher (35), Brian Lockwood (32) making a combined age of 101.
Leeds currently have Jamie Peacock (35), Rob Burrow (30), Kylie Leuluai (35) for a combined age of 100. Only Burrow can add a year this season (given a good Play-Off run) but by the start of next season (102) and by April 2014 the same front row selection will total 103.
No idea if there have been any older combinations out there.

| Don't have their exact ages, but the Grayshon/Ward/Dickinson front row of the mid-80s must have pretty close.

| At the moment carvell, Morley and Monaghan are a combined age 99, but on the 13th of may that will raise to 101 combined age.
I should have more to do on a Saturday evening

That combination never actually started a game together at Leeds - indeed all three never appeared in a game-day fifteen together either. They only shared one season at Headingley (1985/6), Dickinson and Ward would never pull on the Leeds shirt again and Grayshon was also gone soon after as he followed Peter Fox out of the exit before Christmas '86.
The Grayshon/Ward Leeds front row was usually completed by a youthful Brendan Hill or Roy Powell or a mid to late twenties Keith Rayne.
The early part of the '86/7 season did throw up another possibility when Grayshon (37) was paired up with Trevor Skerrett (33) but I imagine Bob Morris (age?) may have let their collective credentials down.
____
This reminds me that I have a Leeds SL Era game by game age spreadsheet (inspired by what I believed to be an erroneous Leeds CEO claim from around 2006) think I'll give it a dust off, bring it up to date, fill in the missing blanks and see if I can come up with a definitive range on the combined ages of the Leeds starting front rows.
