| i hope that bluey is still at the helm next season and with a new contract
forget the likes of bellamy coming over here next season,as it won't happen,he could take his pick of any aussie clubs should he wish!
you will obviously get the departing nrl coaches taking their only option available,so will be more than willing to move over here to re-build their reputation for a couple of seasons
wasn't nathan brown one of these afterall?

| I can't see Noble leaving Crusaders. He seems to be relishing the challenge there, and the players he has are responding very well to his basic gameplan. I wouldn't want him anywhere near Leeds.
If Bluey leaves then I'd look again to the NRL - don't want anyone in SL TBH - except Tony Smith.
As for Walters, he was a nonsensical appointment in the first place - zero first grade coaching experience and dumped from the Broncos because he was basically useless.

IF the article is true and assuming that any 'big name' NRL coach may be hard to tempt or have other options in the NRL,how is Dave Furner doing as a 1st team NRL coach. Could/would he be an option with old Rhinos links or is he too inexperienced for us?
Isn't Dunneman a number two somewhere as well? A furner/dunneman double act?? Has to be better than letting Cummings anywhere near the hot seat........doesn't it??

I'm intrigued by these ideas of bringing in relatively recent ex-players as head coaches.
All the anecdotal evidence suggests that it's difficult to go from being "one of the lads" in a dressing room to being the boss.
Both Furner and Dunnemann have played with a large number of the current first team squad during the earlier part of their career. While both have had a break away from the club in the meantime, how difficult would it be for them to come back and the relationship to be so completely different, as it needs to be?

Certainly a valid and interesting point.
Playing devils advocate though we had Daryl Powell (I don't want to start the argument up again about his merits as there was a lengthy thread about how much credit he should take for the start of our revival) and now have Cummings and Poaching who are giving out orders/plans etc to some degree to players they played with.
The longer it goes without an announcement on Bluey's future then the more I'm prepared to believe Andy Wilson's rumour has its merit

gary hetherington knows exactly how to get the best out of our players/coaches that are coming out of contract come this seasons end
im sure that the fact that bluey has not re-signed or has been offered a new contract as yet for next season, doesnt imply that he wont still get one!
if the rhinos happened to make this seasons challenge cup final, then i could envisage the club announcing that bluey had signed a new contract soon after the semi final win for example

| I'd like to see either John Kear or Brian Noble at the helm next year. Both unlikely, but both very good coaches who could do a good job with us. Noble in particular-to turn Crusaders into the worst team to a side that'll probably make the playoffs shows he still has it.

| I hope McClennan stays but if he is to leave my choice of coaches in SL would be Nathan Brown or TS. As neither is available because Smith is staying at Wire and Brown said he will be at Huddersfield or back in Aus i would not be too surprised if McDermott was approached at Quins.
I watch next to nothing of the NRL and Bellamys record is impressive, but the way his team played the game in the WCC, especially in defence, was not something i would want to watch every week.

| I would be surprised if McClennan departed unless Leeds continue at their current rate and finish around 6th or bel;ow, and fail to make the GF. If he went on his way, I think Leeds would definetely go overseas - maybe Ricky Stuart?
There will be absoluitely no way that Justin Morgan is going to Saints. People need to wise up and acknowledge this is 2010, not 2008. Morgan was overlooked once, and has done nothing to suggest he can take the step up with Saints. In fact his own job security may be thin on the ground should he not improve things at Hull KR. Likely successor? Hard to gage. Saints may look at Kearney and Meninga but I think both will be reluctant to come to these shores. McManus has a track record of going for those well grounded in coachiong so talk of a Sculthorpe, KC, Martyn etc appointment are pie in the sky.
Bradford is more interesting. Would they eat humble pie and appoint Ian Millward? Woudl they go after John Kear?
