I’d really enjoy myself knowing that I don ‘t have to look forward to years of applying for jobs I’m not (dead end and decent) going to get, cashing a giro at the post office and not having to spend time worrying about unfulfilled years in the decades to come.
Also I've done five months of voluntary work before.

I’ve had things tough on the employment front.

| What do you care about Damo? What makes you angry? Not about your own lot but about other peoples?
I think the voluntary work is a good idea - especially if its to do with something you really care about as that makes you feel good about yourself and your life too as you're making a difference.
Twice in my life I've been unemployed - both times for over 6 months and its tough. It really grinds you down. Something like voluntary work could help.
Personally I suspect you'd be good with adults with learning difficulties or young people. - as long as you tempered being wacky with being responsible.

I really don’t know but it’ll come to me. When your self centred like myself its hard to think what makes you angry about other peoples injustice.
I once got involved with a group of conspiracy theorist but it was too extreme for my liking. I couldn’t drink anything at the meeting without getting dirty looks.
I’m lost in life and I’m not ashamed to admit it!

Probably grinded me down as well. On here people have probably notice a change in me since I’ve been unemployed for a while.
But I’ll have a think about what you said above and in the meantime off to ring the job centre to see if there’s anything new on the FJF complaint I sent in that’s going right to the top with the approval of local management.

| Why the fekk has this thread descended into a “look at poor unemployable Damo”?
This clown has the ability and opportunity to enter into a working life but seems to think that any job that isn’t paying him a couple of grand a month is beneath him then complains about being unemployed.
I’m quite successful with what I do and get paid reasonably well but if I was made redundant tomorrow morning I’d be serving Big Mac’s and fries by tomorrow afternoon.
Meanwhile there are now a generation of 35 to 45 year old ex-Rugby League players who have spent their entire lives becoming experts in a skill that they can no longer earn money from.
Is it their fault?
Should their respective clubs have done something to ensure they were not left on the employment scrap heap when their career ended?
I’m with Mr Chicken on this one – big daft lads that know no better.

Any thread about unemployment is bound to have an opinion of mine that people don’t agree with.

What es me off is you slag off Jamie Hanley who has done more this year than you ever will do in your entire life. Do you know anything about him? Have you ever met him? Jamie Hanley won't get you a job only you can do that but your too stupid to realise it.
Then you make a crass comment about the terminally ill and shrug it off. Yes I will confront you at headingley when i see you next and not with violence just to let you know what a pri*k you are.
It saddens me to see and hear everyone taking the out of you and you cannot see it! I've offered you sutble advice in the past to try and guide you but i now know i was wasting my time.
Yes you are unemployable in fact you look like Cosmo Smallpiece and still can't see why people would look at you and say no. You walk into my office looking like you do and you fail the interview before you even open your mouth.
Your problem is you look like an idiot and then you open your mouth and confirm it.

He posted a propaganda piece through the door that was bias and didn’t have a good word to say about other political parties.

I doubt that’ll ever happen mate – Damo no longer visits Headingley on the grounds that they are not playing well, he prefers to sit on his unemployable ar[sizes[/sizee watching Sky supping larger paid for from the tax that you and I have to pay.
Nice to know that the welfare system that was put in place to protect and support the most vulnerable in our society isn’t being abused by work-shy, parasitic no-hopers – hey?

Congratulations because you’ve only become one of those people mate!
We’re all human and admittedly the stuff about terminal illness was out of character for me. However I never wished it on anyone else and never will do. I’m Pro-life.
Everyone has given me advice but I never remember asking for it. But I ask for a job and I don’t get.
What a wonderful paradox of a world we live in.
This is the last I’m talking about my unemployment on these boards because it obviously draws overwhelmingly negative vibes.

Wrong.
Free tickets to attend the match on the behalf of a corporate sponsor.

Scrounging knows no bounds with you does it – “if it doesn’t come free then it’s not for me”.
You should have that on a T-shirt.

Maybe taking a bit too far the LS16?? I don't pay for tickets to go watch rugby games anymore, I have other commitments now and my priorities lie elsewhere. If someone offers any of us on here a free ticket, nine times out of ten we'll take it, even if its not to use ourselves, we'll give it to someone who can use it. From what I can see, thats what Damo has done in this situation!
And just remember, we're from Yorkshire, we're meant to be tight!
