Lemme tell ya - Hurrell is not a marquee signing + if we have made him our marquee then that is some truly poor decision making.

Agree with this. He's struggled to get a game at the Gold Coast this year. Would be a decent signing, and will provide some excitement, but he has a bit of the Anthony Gellings about him - something awesome 1 minute (usually a barnstorming trampling of poor defenders, or a monster defensive hit) and something dumb the next (ridiculous offload or basic dropped ball at the ptb). Concentration can be an issue, as can his weight - for that reason, he's not got many options in the NRL. And even the best centres in the NRL are among the lower paid squad members nowadays. Only the very best are earning over $500k, so I'd doubt Hurrell will command a huge salary, particularly with exchange rate and cost of living taken into account. He'll be on decent money, but not marquee.

If we sign Hurrell id be be very happy, loved watching him and Lolohea when they were coming through at the warriors, both excitement machines, to have them both here next season would be brilliant imo. Neither have hit the potential they showed early on, but think theyl light up superleague.

Have said it before, would be an absolutely unbelievable signing - everything you want from a half in attack, a good runner with ball in hand, runs the tough lines in support, game manager, great passer, great long and short kicking game... everything!

His defence gets maligned in the media, and statistically he does miss a lot of tackles, but it's rare you see anyone run past him. His miss tackles are because he puts pressure on the catcher (usually a 2nd rower or centre) - he throws his body in front of the attacker. At the Sharks, it was a defensive tactic that he shoots out and almost acts as a speed bump, taking out momentum for the centre and 2nd row to then wrap up the tackle. It's certainly not because he's a weak defender or afraid to put his body on the line.

George King would've been a long term improvement on some of the veterans we've got. Would definitely make the 17.
