| Quote Charlie Sheen="Charlie Sheen"If Parcel has a good season, I'd keep him, assuming he wants to stay. I doubt King would be an upgrade.'"
Having seen King's 3 games so far, I would be surprised if he were a major target as a starting 9 for Leeds. He has been very good for Fev, but hasn't been ripping teams apart, which Parcell unquestionably would do in the Championship, as would Dwyer on one of his good days. King was released by the team that finished bottom in the NRL and wasn't picked up by any other NRL teams. Don't get me wrong, he's a good player, and already has a cult following at Fev, but he's not the type of standout overseas player you guys would normally take imo.

| On love rugby league we've been linked with Danny Levi from the Knights as Parcells replacement.

I’d rather have him than King I think...in fact IF Parcel is off and IF we are looking for another front line hooker I’d rather take another punt on the ‘traitor’ than sign King.

| Quote KaeruJim="KaeruJim"Quote KaeruJim="Superted"Kasiano won't get the money he'd want from another NRL club, Melbourne would still have to pay a large chunk, which would defeat the objective of getting rid to cut cap costs.
As for Kaufusi, it's not the good one that is up for grabs. Felise Kaufusi is the Queensland back rower, Patrick ain't much chop.
Kasiano is past his best, but would still be a good signing. He is in better shape than ever now, but that doesn't mean he's a better player for it. He's a bit like Greg Eastwood in that he actually plays better fat. Take away his size and weight and you lose a big part of what makes him so hard to handle - but big and fat doesn't work in the Melbourne system, but would work just fine over here.
Get him here and let Tui introduce him to 'I am Doner'!'"
Agree that Kasiano would probably go well over here, and he's the right overall type of player Leeds needs.
However we already have a clutch of players which struggle for conditioning, and it's really important IMO that the club generates a very strong training culture. It would be easy to create (another) culture where talented overseas players come across, take the mickey a bit and rock up to play once a week. I don't think that's what we need longer term - one or two too many doner addicts and you start to have a problem, potentially.
Maybe I'm still scarred by seeing Richie Blackmore chain smoking in his Sin Bin bar after games on a weekend! Handy player still mind.'"
Agreed on that - our 3 latest overseas signings all have a history of getting out of shape, throw in a couple of existing squad members who have shown a tendancy to be lardy and its a slippery slope. But.... Kasiano would be good in isolation.
Feel your pain on Blackmore and there have been plenty of others with similar traits. His daughter was an interesting character though

| I still wouldn't be surprised if we signed Ikahihifo as I was told that he was our first choice replacement for Garbutt during the off season (unless we have moved on from him and with better players lined up?)
Kasiano would be a good signing if he came with the right mindset and that he knew that his NRL days were done.
IMO our side would have a far more balanced look to it with Ikahihifo or Kasiano in it and it would also give us what we are currently lacking up front in order for us to be vying for the top 4 and silverware (other than a favourable CC draw) this year
I would love George Burgess as our meter munching prop for 2020 if we had to wait for the right guy

Agreed Burgess would be good for us. Another prop I've always liked is JWH. He has family in the area and has pretty much achieved everything in the NRL. Also, and I think this is increasingly important actually, the guy has a personality.
You'd probably want to have a better salary-balanced squad down the line, but it'll take a few years for our young lads to mature properly into first grade and we can afford one or two more high-profile professionals to provide a structure in the process.
For me, if we can feasibly make it happen, I'd like to see us secure a real top-line player who as at or very near international level. It's especially relevant at prop because we all know we lack punch there, and because we have Oledzski, Dupree, Holroyd all coming through together, any or all or whom could develop into full England internationals in due course.

| Apparently Souths have now come out and said that George will still be there in their 2019 season.

damn it had to ask, just has i had removed it from my memory.
Ben cross was a funny one though because on paper he was a good solid signing, but he ended up just being gash. cannot remember many saying "what we signed him for"

Ben Cross didn't just imitate an NRL grade prop whilst he was with us as he then went on to dupe Wigan and Widnes too
