We did OK when Harris and Morley didn't come back. I reckon we'll do OK again, especially wit the likes of Ablett and JJB in the back row.

I wanted him back, of course I did, but I said when the idea first arose I wouldn't be breaking the bank (or our salary cap structure) to sign him. He will be 31 when he arrives back and has always been an all action player. He will go down a treat with the Hull fans providing he can stay fit, you cannot dfail to like a player that puts his body on the line so often as Gareth Ellis. They really need to sort their structure out though IMO, haven't seen much of them this season but if Richard Horne is still involved in organising their play then they will be a step behind the top 3 or 4 already.

Well done to Gareth for getting the best deal for himself as well. He certainly deserves it.

Ellis would have been a "nice to have" but not a necessity, we have plenty of talent in the back row and plenty coming through the academy so I'm not overly bothered that we've missed out on his signature.

He'll be a good signing for the Eastern Interbreds and they should get 2 or 3 good years out of him providing his age doesn't catch up with him too much.
