The word when applied to a human being been used in the context of a put-down -to imply someone is lower than a white, hence it's offensive. PC brigade or not you could respect this. |

Jim Davidson and his hilarious invention "Chalky" might be what makes you giggle, but the nasty PC Brigade put a stop to all that.
For your information (and f*** you seem to need some input from somewhere), "Coloured" was an official term used in Apartheid South Africa. It described anyone who was mixed race or of Asian ethnic descent (and maybe a few others I can't recall), as opposed to Black and White. It signified someone with less rights than a White.

south africa was different to america.
whites ruled and everyone else was inferior.
but they still called blacks black, more so in rhodesia (zimbabwe)
remember smiths ? speech.........."there will be no BLACK majority rule in my lifetime"
