However the reference works that are The Headingley Story Volumes 1 and 2 are somewhat lacking in letting on the secret who coached the Leeds team from season to season. Beyond those I'm probably stuck for inspiration.

Agree that the YC was a very low grade comp to win - I'd say the John Player Trophy was worth more than the old Premiership as despite being the 'top 8' at least half the teams involved had already given up on the season from the games I saw (especially Leeds for some reaosn most years.......). The WCC I'd say is worth least because it's a one-off, and effectively pre-season for the NRL side. It's a fun thing to win but no more.
