I'd say.
Often Leeds' second best prop and must be one of the first names down on McClennan's team sheet.
There are better props out there but only one better at Leeds.

He just needs to learn how to move sideways in the defensive line. Scruton was a better prop in every department for me - significantly in his defensive mobility. I thought Burgess had plenty to offer on what I saw last year, but he hasn't really come on this year. He has good hands though and can certainly cart the ball up. I was hoping he'd have the same aggressive streak his brother has, but still a way to go there.

He's only young though is Luke and it's only his 2nd season. He's got great go forward which will only get better, his defence will come in time. The lads' got a huge future at Leeds imo.

I agree but it's a pointless exercise comparing him to someone Leeds could not/did not retain. Burgess has areas of his game he needs to improve but is coming along steadily enough considering the additional workload he's been forced into carrying this season.

Even comparing now, Burgess has had a far better season than Scruton's.
Scruton, has expected, has gone backwards.

| I haven't seen too much of the guy.
But did Wakie put up a fight to retain him?
Did they want to keep him, or was the taste of a transfer fee deemed as good business?

| The club firmly believe that a player is not up to super league until he is past 20, especially applying this to the forwards.

He was out of contract IIRC at the end of this season and could have moved on for a fee to be determined by tribunal.
Given he's got limited first team experience and no senior rep honours, they wouldn't have got much at tribunal. If his heart was set on leaving, then it makes sense for them to cash in now.
